Meet Lola Boutée | CEO & Creative Director, The Dollface Dames

We had the good fortune of connecting with Lola Boutée and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lola, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process behind starting my own business was I wanted to take control of my own career and provide women with a safe space to explore their passions and embrace their inner beauty and sensuality. I wanted women’s voices to be heard and to provide more opportunities for women in the arts. I love being a woman owned business. We started with just four women, myself included, and now I work with thousands of performers all over the world with weekly shows in different states. It’s rewarding to see our company continue to develop over time and it’s amazing watching our artists showcase their artistic visions and seeing how much happiness we can provide to our patrons through this creativity.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Tell us about your brand.
Entertainment-everything entertainment!
Through my production company Lola Boutée Presents, we have several different entertainment divisions to handle all your entertainment needs. I’m the owner of The Dollface Dames-Los Angeles’s Premier Burlesque & Cabaret company and Edge of the World Entertainment which is our luxurious private & corporate event company.
Our brand is all about self-expression, freedom, and empowerment. All of our artists are so unique. Our performers are not just dancers and singers, we are a full-service entertainment company featuring custom costuming, living red carpets, strolling champagne skirts, fire performers, bubble sphere artists, contortionists, aerialists, stilt-walkers, sword-swallowers, Can Can dancers, belly dancers, showgirls, sideshow, comedians, DJ’s, bands, & so much more.
Through art, our performers create characters, choreography, and storylines, to bring to life their artistic vision at every event. We work with rockstar artists to provide amazing experiences whether it be a live show, teaching a class, performing virtually, or going on tour. We love to entertain!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I live in the Southbay and I love the ocean so we’d picnic on the beach and walk the Stand looking at all the amazing houses, one of which will be mine someday -Ha! I love supporting small local places, so we’d definitely hit up Friends of the Vine in Redondo Beach which is an intimate wine bar that is frequented by super fun regulars, and is one of my all-time favorite spots to visit because the owner and his wife are some of the sweetest people I know. I also love R6 Distillery, in El Segundo. I mean what’s better than partying in a real Speakeasy!
I’d take them to all our venues to watch a live show, such as Illusion Magic Lounge in Santa Monica, one of the last family run theaters where we perform once a month and they do magic shows on the weekends. I’d head up to the valley to check out The Write Off Room, the newest hotspot made by musicians for musicians.
We eat at Casablanca in Venice on the way to TRiP Santa Monica where we’ve performed at for the past 14+ years as LA’s longest running weekly show, keeping live entertainment going strong on the Westside! We’d check out The Getty, head to The Sunset in Malibu, and visit with my LA family, which are all my friends here that have adopted this East coast girl and helped her make LA her home.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I dedicate this shoutout to my mother who passed away last year. She was my biggest supporter. She raised me to be a strong and confident woman. She encouraged me to follow my dreams and I want to thank her for always believing in me.
