Meet Lola Ravid | Nurse Writer & Wanderluster

We had the good fortune of connecting with Lola Ravid and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lola, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
Work life balance is the main reason I started Nomadic Pluma. It has given me the balance and the fulfillment I was seeking as a nurse. I now live abroad, write as a nurse to bridge health and educational gaps, and travel often.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Nomadic Pluma is a business run by a professional who is creative by nature. That’s the beauty of what I have created. I am a Nurse by training, who loves to write and has found fulfillment bridging knowledge and health gaps. Running Nomadic Pluma allows me time to travel and work anywhere I want. I get to write about science, parenting, health, and sometimes even essays. I am taking opportunities as they come.
I started working on getting Nomadic Pluma up and running last summer, 2022. Just one year later, I am writing and taking a role as an expert reviewer covering topics related to the pediatric population. I also collaborate on various projects with other like-minded people that aim to disseminate information to the public. I am most proud of how much I have accomplished in such a short time.
My personal and professional experiences have molded me into who I am today. Time has clarified what I love doing and what I am good at. At first, it wasn’t easy to figure it out. That was the challenging part. Once I placed the big picture together, I was able to merge my personal and professional skills to reach fulfillment. The process was full of brainstorming, trials, and errors. Despite it all, I am happy I went for it and established Nomadic Pluma.
Throughout the years, I have learned that it’s essential to do what you love to do, not what everyone else thinks you should be doing. I would want the world to know that. Suppose you have a goal to create something new. Start a business? Or Step outside your comfort zone? Do it! You have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I am grateful for the support and encouragement of my husband, Marc. He has inspired me to seek a role that brings fulfillment and work-life balance. To seek opportunities when they come up. It’s been brilliant advice. He is a great business owner and my go-to person for questions about that aspect.
I am also grateful to those who have allowed me to write for them, especially throughout the initial months of my journey.
