We had the good fortune of connecting with Loren Israel and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Loren, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
A very good question. I started out as a musician. Touring, got a record deal then a nice publishing deal and thought “I made it.” Hahaha….well suffice it to say that didn’t last too long. The lead singer of my band joined a cult.

Went back to school but never stopped my music bug. I would go to shows 6 days a week, had 3 jobs, had 5 roommates and barely got through school. Since my band did well on the local scene, I would get asked/consulted by other artists on How The Could get More People To Their Shows and make better deals and more money. Also, I did numerous charity/benefit concerts and booked bands like Counting Crows, Johnny Depps Band The Rock City Angels (who I really dig) and Blues Traveler.

A record company executive saw me out every night and started to ask me Who Is Hot? I told him, and a couple of those bands became super big. I asked for an internship. I spent 3 years…..3 years as an intern! And right then and there I started producing and developing artrists because I thought that would make me a better A&R man.

Spent about 15 years in various capacities at Capitol Records and took all that passion, experience and knowlege to forge my own direction: Evangelizing Success in the Music Busuiness.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’ve been deeply involved with several #1 songs: Hey There Delilah by Plain White T’s, The Middle by Jimmy Eat World, Animal and Everybody Talks by Neon Trees and my most recent # 1 in 2020’s Novacaine by The Unlikely Candidates. I’m very proud of all of those records and the great people involved. But what I am most excited about are all my current artists. They all inspire me. And that is what sets me apart. I have a tremendous amount of enthusiasm and passion for what I do. I am truly grateful.
