Meet Louis Kind | self-made lifestyle influencer, content creator, curator, and public figure

We had the good fortune of connecting with Louis Kind and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Louis, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
When I first started working as an influencer, I believe that I might have made the mistake of overvaluing it as a part of my life. When it came to work life balance, I initially gave all the different parts of my life equal value. This translated to me scheduling myself time to film and putting pressure upon myself to post constantly early on. But as I have grown to learn, not everything matters the same way. I recognize now that I have a lot on my plate, and I am not in a position where I have the energy to be spending large amounts of it on influencing. Since the last time I interviewed with you, I have been humbled by my need for rest and now I live by more realistic expectations. I try to give it my all when it comes to everything, but making sure that they’re on my terms. I’ve realized that I’m a pretty structured person, which means that I do have rituals and routines that I try to stick by, but I also allow myself to bend my own rules when I feel the need to. To me, work life balance is simply all about how you’re feeling in the here and now. If you feel like doing something, do it. If you don’t feel like doing something, take stock of what you’ve already accomplished, and let you heart tell you what to do next.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’ve always been interested in creative projects and using my creativity to problem solve. Eventually, the art of curating images to share eventually led me to start curating every aspect of my life. This has caused me to have a good sense of what I like and makes me confident that what I am sharing will bring the same joy/love/peace to those who appreciate my aesthetic. As we live in a messy world, I believe that my minimalistic/sustainable aesthetic brings a unique perspective to living mindfully. As I try to be conscious of my impact, I share of my knowledge and experiences in order for others to be able to better serve themselves and others in their own lives. Equipped with beautiful images that showcase a life lived in clean lines and intentional pops of color, and I hope to inspire others to live their lives with the confidence to find their own versions of joy/love/peace.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Portland, Oregon is growing on me, as I continue to explore the city myself, with all its different facets and novelties. As a place to visit, I would definitely focus on the different parts that make it a great place to go and unwind. I would take a friend who is visiting me to the different gardens that we have as well as the parks that are sprinkled throughout the city. As someone who loves brunch, there are great places to eat such as Screen Door and Cheryl’s on 12th that’ll hit the spot. The Portland Art Museum, as well art galleries, are great places to hang out with friends as there is so much to take in and it’s fun to learn about new pieces that go on display. Lastly, if there is time to spare, I would take them to Mount Hood and the Oregon Zoo.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would love to give a shoutout to my family and friends who have been cheering me on as I continue to share about my life and experiences. I’ve made plenty of calls (too many to count) with those close to me already, where I’ve asked for advice and input on my influencer work. I as I take my role and impact seriously, making sure that my values continuously align with my content could not be possible without my close knit of friends who I confide in. Thanks again everyone! I really am a lucky guy to have you all on my team.
