We had the good fortune of connecting with Lucios Veiga Sallouti Guimaraes and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lucios, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
Having a calm personality has always helped me in my career.

Working in the film industry can be stressful when you are on set solving problems and having a tight schedule. It also happens that sometimes you have to put aside your ego and the plans you had made in pre-production because a new problem appeared.

So being a patient person and being open to understand the situation has always helped me. It is always a dialogue between every department to make a movie happen, and you need to listen, understand and work together around every situation.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am proud of where I got in a small period of time.

When I first moved to the US I didn’t think that I would get the experience and connections that I have today so fast. I have accomplished a lot and this helps me to not get frustrated or demotivated when something doesn’t happen the way I wanted.

Knowing what I did in less then two years makes me feel comfortable to grow on my own pace, I don’t need to keep a pressure on myself, because I feel comfortable with the pace that my career is going, and I am confident that it will keep getting better as I get more experience.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Every person that I worked with when I started and didn’t know a lot about the industry deserves my recognition, but specially the ones that I still keep working together.

I have made great friends and created relationships in which we trust each other because we grew our businesses together, helping each other.
