We had the good fortune of connecting with Luisa Lucia and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Luisa, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
When I transitioned my career to spiritual coaching it happened very organically. People started showing up and requesting my guidance before I had any business structure in place. I didn’t even have a website let alone a corporation and I was still wrapping up my certifications. I just knew I wanted to help people – like really truly help them. And I was fortunate in that I think they sensed that. That I could help them and that I genuinely cared. So a lot of the “plan” unfolded afterwards – in terms of bringing structure and strategy to my business. I figured it out along the way, which I don’t necessarily recommend. It’s kind of challenging get strategic after the fact because there’s a lot you have to revisit, rethink, and redo. It’s definitely been a learning process!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
It definitely wasn’t easy. I think very few people become life coaches if they’ve had an easy path. I coach so much from experience. Everything I’ve been through encourages wisdom and compassion. I’m also a testament to the fact that there’s always a light at the end and it can get better, so if clients are really struggling I think that offers hope. The main thing that sets my practice apart is my expertise in Human Design, which serves as a beautiful and powerful foundation for the work that I do. Understanding someones unique blueprint allows me to support and guide them in a way that’s totally customized to their individual truth. So my coaching is very intimate and impactful.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Ooooof – I’m at a stage in my business where I don’t get out much because I’m hyper-focused and dedicated. So maybe not the best person to ask – lol. But if I had a guest from out of town, definitely the beach – Manhattan Beach is a favorite for me personally. It’s a little more quaint and quiet. I like hanging out on Rose in Venice for food and vibes, which is closer to my side of town. I like Griffith Park for hiking and especially the Observatory for great views of the city. Also love the La Brea Tar Pits for an interesting historical take on the city. And we have beautiful gardens in LA – maybe The Arboretum or The Huntington.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I credit the entirety of my journey! Which includes all the amazing coaches and healers I’ve personally worked with along the way. As well as my soul family – close friends and relatives. And of course Spirit for this fascinating co-creative experience. In addition, Ra Uru Hu (the godfather of Human Design) and Richard Rudd (who pioneered The Gene Keys) have been massively influential in my life.
