Meet Lula Goce | Visual and Streetartist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Lula Goce and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lula, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
It’s a natural process. I studied Fine Arts and, over the years, I went through various stages: I worked for others, taught classes, and did graphic design for films. Over time, and through small steps, I gradually gained financial independence, steadily but surely.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Sometimes we tend to use commonplaces and stereotypes… artists are often told that we depend on the muses, but the reality is that regardless of the talent we have, the basis of any success is based on work and the ability to learn from the subjects:
It is life experience that gives you a position from which you have a perspective to make the right decisions.
Streetart is a man’s world, but more and more women are getting on the cranes. From my point of view, I’m not looking for a niche for women to work together. I’m looking for a place where we can be on equal terms when it comes to being recognised, paid and with equal opportunities.
Our talent speaks for us.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Start with breakfast at République (Mid-City) for the perfect balance of French-inspired pastries and brunch dishes in an artsy, historical space.
Head straight to Griffith Observatory. Take in panoramic views of the city and a close-up of the iconic Hollywood sign. Hike the surrounding trails if you’re feeling adventurous.
Stop at Gjusta (Venice) for a laid-back but elevated deli-style lunch. Think house-smoked fish, fresh salads, and artisan bread.
Wander through Venice’s Abbot Kinney Boulevard, packed with trendy boutiques and street art. Finish off with dinner at The Tasting Kitchen, where California cuisine meets comfort food.
Drinks at The Bungalow (Santa Monica), a beachside bar with an eclectic, cozy vibe and fire pits to chill by.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My partner and current husband.
He acts as my manager so that I can focus on the creative side.
It’s important to have the support of someone you can trust 100% and have a reliable opinion.
