Meet Luna and Dave Wolf | Tooth Gem & Whitening Tech / Tattoo Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Luna and Dave Wolf and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Luna and Dave, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
“Wolves don’t lose sleep over the opinion of sheep.”
To us it means to follow your dreams despite what others may say. To stay in your lane and hold your head high. Not to let outside opinions steer you off your path.
Often people operate from a place of fear and will try to push you away from pursuing creative and artistic careers because more traditional careers are “more stable” but we chose to follow our hearts and instincts. Wolves are fearless and operate from a place of hunger and the desire to reach our goals and dreams.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
We are a husband and wife team based out of Long Beach, CA. Our studio “The Den of Wolves” is located in Long Beach, CA and comprised of our two businesses “Tooth Gems by Luna” and “Dave Wolf Tattoos”.
Luna Wolf: I’m proud to offer teeth whitening and tooth gems. Tooth Gems are another form of self expression like tattoos or piercings and add a little something to someone’s smile. I love seeing my clients smiling and happy after having their teeth whitened and/or having gems applied. A lot of people ask if drilling is required and the answer is “No!”, the application process is painless and completely reversible at any time with no damage to the enamel. On average, depending on many factors, tooth gems can last anywhere from months to years. The gems are bonded using dental grade products similar to those used to bond braces brackets. I bond 18k+ gold tooth gems, opal charms and genuine crystals in many shapes and colors to the surface of the teeth. Sometimes a symbol or image is created using many individual crystals, for example a flower, cross or heart. Sometimes I apply a single cute crystal on one tooth or use many to cover an entire tooth. You can have many applied to create a sort of “grill” effect, the possibilities are endless!
As far as my journey goes, I have experience in the dental field and am a creative soul at my core, so when I discovered tooth gems I fell in love!
So far I have completed two extensive tooth gem courses, a teeth whitening course, and a blood borne pathogen certification. I am continuously seeking out new knowledge, researching products and techniques.
I’m proud that I never gave up on this dream, In the past I have given up on certain things if I didn’t see instant success right away. I would get discouraged and move on, but looking back I realized those things weren’t really for me and there will be hurdles throughout any journey especially in the beginning and good things take time, we just have to be willing to pivot and learn and always continue to learn.
Dave Wolf: My art is heavily influenced by hispanic culture, personal experiences, and nostalgia.
I am proud of every project, every piece is a map to the legacy I will leave behind. What sets me apart from other artists is that I am not into trends. I believe art should be a reflection of who you are as an individual. It should move others to feel emotions and lend perspective-while giving subtle glimpses into the artists life. It has been a difficult journey mentally, emotionally and physically getting to where I am today; overcoming doubts, fears, criticisms, and persecution.
One thing I have learned is people that don’t support the vision are haunted by their own negative biases, and project them on others who chose to be fearless against the obstacles before them-perhaps it is envy or resentment toward your resilience-achieving what they could not.
What I’ve learned is what is meant for you will be, and persistence is vital in the pursuit of your dreams.
Nothing comes over night, and the only thing that stands between you and destiny is yourself and time.
I want to be remembered as one who inspired others follow their passions and believe they’re bigger than the odds. To remember that everyone has a story to tell, and is more detrimental to the soul than wasted talent.
Everyone is a one of one.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Luna and Dave Wolf: For the best time in Long Beach, we’d hit Wild Chive for Brunch, Have a walk near the beach. Grab Little Coyote on 4th for lunch followed by some shopping. There’s honestly so many cute shops in Long Beach like Plantiitas and Prism Boutique so we’d definitely have to check out some of the local small businesses. We could rent jet ski’s at Hotel Maya for a couple of hours or lay out at Rosie’s Dog Beach and hit “The Carvery” for some prime rib and live entertainment.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Our biggest source of support has honestly been our “pack” as we like to call it. The kids (Desi & Zoey), Dave and Luna Wolf. Inside this pack is all love and support. We are constantly hyping each other up and there for each other.
