We had the good fortune of connecting with Lynn Adrianna Freedman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lynn Adrianna, we’d love to hear more about your end-goal, professionally.
End of my career. Hmm. To be fair, I don’t believe there will be an “end to my career”. I have no intention of ever retiring, so for me I think the end of my career would be akin to the end of my life. That said, I’ll summarize this way: by the end of it all, I’m hoping that I will have touched a great many hearts and minds. That I will have been a vehicle for people to feel seen, heard and represented. That I will have told important and impactful stories that moved the needle in the way we view humanity and the ways in which we treat one another, and that I will have been able to provide an expansive and fun life for my family.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m not sure what sets me apart from others, but I do have a ferocious drive that doesn’t seem to be quieting as I get older like it has for many of my peers; I’m just as hungry as ever to tell stories! I’m incredibly excited about my future. There are so many wonderful possibilities on the horizon and I feel as though I have finally hit my stride, personally and artistically. Hell no it was not easy – the life of an artist rarely is – but it’s been the only possible path for me. My goal as an actress is always to be as truthful as humanly possible, while honoring the life and story that the writer has created. I see it as an incredible privilege to tell stories and represent the human condition, so I always give it my everything.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The ocean, first and foremost! Proximity to the ocean is my favorite thing about LA! I’d probably also want to do a hike or two. I love Kenneth Hahn Park and of course, Runyon is always fun for a good workout and people watching. Eating is one of my favorite activities and LA does have some great restaurants. Right now I’m a huge fan of SonoraTown in Mid-City for Mexican fare, and Terroni has always been a favorite for pasta and a good glass of wine. I also love a nice stroll on Larchmont; a sandwich at Larchmont Wine and Cheese, ice cream at Jeni’s and then chill at Chevalier’s perusing the books for an hour or so. I love to kayak at the Marina, the library downtown is epic. There’s lots of fun stuff to do. LACMA, The Grove, a walk up and down Vermont in Los Feliz, the Venice canals, and on and on.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are so many!

My father, who taught me how to embody the artistic life, and whose music and legacy continues to inspire me and others, Don Friedman.

My mother, Brenda Schwartz, who sacrificed her own artistic dreams so that I could pursue mine and has always been my biggest cheerleader.

All of my students over the years, who trusted me to impart whatever knowledge I had about this crazy and beautiful art form.

My daughter, who is my most consistent source of joy and hope. She keeps me honest, pure, searching and striving.

All of the amazing teachers, directors and artists who have taught me and pushed me to be better.
