We had the good fortune of connecting with Madalin Marquez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Madalin, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process when starting my own business was to create a side income for my family and I, living in California and working a full time job just isn’t enough these days. My small business has given me the opportunity to make a little extra and has turned out to be something I love! Having a Charcuterie Bar Cart has been fun, getting to be a part of people’s events and create personal charcuterie boxes for their guests; it’s such a unique touch to elevate any event!

What should our readers know about your business?
What I love about Made By Madalin is first off everyone loves charcuterie boards! But my cart is different I offer a variety of options and each person chooses what they want in their own box, so no food is being wasted, and the entire time it’s being chilled so it’s fresh, rather than a grazing board or table where most of the food goes to waste and it goes bad fast! Nobody likes soggy cheese!
I love my business because it’s something different, and I can offer something for everyone, vegan, vegetarian and all!
It definitely isn’t easy and still learning as I go but it’s all worth it!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We would definitely be visiting some wineries perhaps in Malibu, or go to arts district Los Angeles and eat and drink all around the area; Bestia, Girl & the Goat, sushi in little Tokyo, some pizza and wine at the Propaganda Wine Bar. We would go to Spire 73 for dinner drinks and an amazing view, and take a cruise or small road-trip up PCH and visit Santa Barbara or go the opposite way and party in Rosarito!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Shoutout to my son Guy, for being my reason to do more.
