We had the good fortune of connecting with Mahesh Kondiparthi and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mahesh, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind my success is the seamless fusion of imagination and execution. I’ve always been fascinated by how structured engineering can coexist with boundless creativity. My format, Cinematic Live, emerged from that intersection—where storytelling meets systems thinking. I don’t just perform; I bring emotions to life through storytelling and special effects. What’s helped me stand out is that I didn’t aim to replicate what already exists—I invent formats that didn’t exist before.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
When Art meets Aspiration
My journey as an artist has been anything but conventional. I started over a decade ago with hobby filmmaking: writing, directing, and even acting in multiple roles myself. What began as a necessity due to a lack of collaborators evolved into a creative breakthrough: Cinematic Live. This format blends pre-recorded characters with live performance, creating a hybrid of theater and film. While it’s a solo performance, it’s designed to feel like a full-fledged feature film unfolding live on stage.
From short films to Cinematic Live performances, every project I pursue is a step toward my mission: to tell visual stories that captivate, resonate, and entertain. Most recently, that path led me to audition for America’s Got Talent (AGT). For an artist like me, AGT isn’t just a platform—it’s a testing ground. One of the AGT producers acknowledged the uniqueness of my work and asked me to share additional show reels. I also previewed Abhram series at a private event, and performed live at local venues, and the response from a culturally diverse audience was overwhelmingly positive. Their curiosity reinforced my belief that the Abhiram universe I’m building—filled with complex characters and emotionally rich stories—can resonate with global audiences.
While my latest AGT auditions didn’t give the big break I hoped for, they gave me something just as valuable: clarity and concept art. Each performance served as a living storyboard for the Abhiram feature film I envision. My concept was compelling but constrained by the technology I had access to. That gap between vision and execution revealed exactly where to focus next. I’m now fine-tuning both the tech and the storytelling, ensuring that Abhiram’s world isn’t just imagined – it’s realized in full cinematic depth, and can shine the next time I step on a major stage.
My roadmap is to build traction through national talent shows, introducing audiences to Abhiram and Cinematic Live. From there, I want to bring Abhiram to silver screens, streaming platforms and studios willing to bet on a character that could live across generations.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If a close friend were visiting LA, I’d start with Hollywood – both the myth and the real thing. We’d catch a show at the Dolby Theatre, walk the historic streets, then dip into lesser-known performance spots and downtown pop-up shows where the next big ideas are taking shape.
LA trip is incomplete without experiencing the behind-the-scenes movie magic in Universal Studios and feel the magic in Disneyland.
To me, the best LA experience isn’t a checklist—it’s a mood. Magic, surprise, and stories unfolding everywhere.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d love to dedicate this shoutout to the audiences who witnessed the early prototypes of Abhiram’s Cinematic Live. Their backstage encouragement, curiosity, and warmth became fuel for my persistence.

A heartfelt shout out to the legendary Indian filmmaker S. S. Rajamouli and his father, Vijayendra Prasad, who wrote all of his iconic stories. Though we never met, I consider myself their Ekalavya shishya—a devoted distant student—who has learned not just the technique, but the art of elevations led by emotions. Their influence echoes in every arc I design and every emotion I sculpt.

An aspirational shoutout to the producers, directors, and distributors in the film industry who haven’t crossed paths with me yet. If you’re someone who believes in daring fresh formats and emotional storytelling, I’ve built a world called Abhiram, crafted piece by piece with performance, technology, and heart. I’m ready to bring it to the silver screen, and I’m sending this shoutout into the future, to those who’ll help make that vision a reality.
