We had the good fortune of connecting with Mandy Pacheco and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mandy, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Ivy Studios began as Rose Studios LA that operated out of 7 locations. As a small team, my partner and I gave it our all but sacrificed our physical and mental health. The pause of the pandemic made me realize that my true passion was to provide a gorgeous urban backdrop for creatives while balancing my personal life. I rebranded and downsized creating Ivy Studios, a creative rental space that rents to artists and content creators. My vision for Ivy Studios is to shift the entertainment industry through a feminine aesthetic that promotes more equality, ideals and diversity in the event venue landscape.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Having been in the business for x years, I observed the lack of opportunities for women and LGBTQ creatives. I set out to create a high end luxury studio that not only caters to an affluent market, but also gives way for entrepreneurs of a marginalized community. Not only do we offer a beautiful unique urban backdrop but also education services and charity events, Both our business and philanthropic work comes with clear communication, an efficient production system and over 20 years in the hospitality and creative industry.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Living and working in the Downtown LA Area, I am thrilled to see an influx of small businesses and artists communities. The Coffee shops and restaurants are returning to life and there is a new business every week. I look forward to seeing what’s to come over the next 5 years, for LA’s new downtown.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’ve always looked up to my father for making the move to the US from Mexico, starting a new life at age 27. He always worked so hard, but I rarely saw him. He’s shown how hard work can move you forward, and I’ve learned a lot about humility & drive that way. It also taught me the importance of balance in life. I credit my strength and ability to handle anything to that. At 37 I’ve started my life over a few times and now my second business. I look forward to what the future has in store for this chapter.

I also admire the surge of self care awareness happening. Watching inspiring women speak up and encourage others to do the same, keeps me moving forward. I like to re- share and spread the knowledge I find helpful. This all brings me joy.
