We had the good fortune of connecting with Marcus Henderson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Marcus, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
I believe in a healthy diet and good quality sleep is a contributors to anybody’s success. Repetition is key! I would go out around sunset almost every other day just to fly my drone and practice my skills in the air. The more you fly, the more you learn. Keeping that Mamba Mentality helps me with all shoots.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Prayer, Hustle, and Work Ethic contribute to where I am today. Being financially literate and having a sound mind. Learning how to network and not focus on the bs that this world will throw at you. Just focus on your goals and the task at hand.
I’m just a kid from Cleveland. Moved to the DMV after college and some years later landed in LA. I was always inspired in my youth to be an entrepreneur and a leader. Most importantly, my mission in life is to make money from the things I love to do. I kept that thought process and that landed me in Sports, Drones, and A.I.: Future Automation.
Flying drones is an art form. It takes patience, skill, and technique. To fly commercially, you must have your Part 107 Certification. It took me three attempts to pass this test, but when I passed, I knew doors will start to open. My first two years I struggled to find clients. It wasn’t until I got introduced to Fiverr and networking with Real Estate companies, that I started picking up more clients.
I love flying, nothing more peaceful to it. I want everyone to know that I’m a professional. I’ll ensure safety & quality as a priority. I specialize in commercial real estate photography & videography, marketing, and cinematography. I love to create!
As far as, being a Project Manager. I prefer to work on forward-thinking & futuristic products. Both relate to consumer products & services. These would be your autonomous vehicles and AR simulations. Nothing is easy about being a PM. You’ll pick things up on the job but I’m always faced with challenges. Long story short, I’m a good problem solver.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If I’m showing you around the city I will take you to the Hilltop Café in Inglewood for coffee and breakfast. Next, Simply Wholesome for a smoothie and a Jamaican patty for Lunch. To vibe out, I’m heading up to Malibu for a beach day or a hike around the trails nearby.
We will have to hit up Rollcall in Koreatown for some sushi. For the best Vegan tacos, I recommend Tacos Tu Madre.
One of my favorite things to do for leisure is to ride my bike along the coast from Marina Del Ray to Santa Monica. It’s very relaxing.
Lastly, Leimert Park on a Sunday to grab some essentials from Nappily Natures.
Drone Flying: Where ever I’m permitted lol
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I appreciate the invitation! First and foremost I put GOD first! My ancestors watching over me. Special thanks to my family who always believed in me and supported me throughout my journey. Much love to my friends who encourage me to strive for more. I would have to say the book The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho motivated me a lot too. Lastly, the late great Kobe Bryant! I followed his career since I was a kid and I always admired his work ethic. I try to mirror my work ethic to his.
