We had the good fortune of connecting with Maria & Boris Blinderman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Maria & Boris, what do you attribute your success to?
Adaptability and the way we pour our hearts into every unique love story are the key elements behind our success.

As wedding content creators, we bring our rich cultural experiences to our work. Maria, born in the US but raised in Peru, carries the passion and joy of the Latin American culture. Boris, born in Moscow but raised Jewish in Chicago, carries the generosity and kindness of the Jewish culture. Our diverse backgrounds allow us to connect with and understand couples from all walks of life. Throughout our lives, we’ve learned to appreciate different customs, traditions, and expressions of love. This allows us to approach each wedding with an open mind and heart, ready to capture the unique essence of every couple’s story.

We also pour our hearts into every project, treating each love story as if it were our own. Our passion for telling a story through a video allows us to create deeply personal and emotional content. We are dedicated to truly represent each couple’s culture, style, and journey.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
We are Maria and Boris, the owners of The Moment Catchers, a wedding content creation duo. Our idea was born from our own experiences of always being behind the camera and not necessarily present at different events. We realized that especially at weddings, couples and guests should be fully present and enjoying the moment, not focused on capturing everything from their phones. Our mission is to allow couples to LIVE in the present while we document their LOVE and CAPTURE every moment of their wedding day. We started our business as an engaged couple and later as a married couple, so we understand the ins and outs of a wedding day. This helps us connect with couples from the moment we speak to them.

We have had the honor to capture a lot of weddings, gender reveals, and bridal showers, moments that people will be able to relive forever.

What sets us apart is that we’re a duo, allowing us to be in two places at the same time throughout the wedding day. We’re not only able to capture the raw moments that happen throughout the wedding day, but we’re also an extra set of hands – whether it’s fluffing the bride’s dress or lint-rolling the groom’s jacket. Trust us! We get it!

Our journey began just over a year ago with a simple idea: help people live in the present. As soon as we created our name and logo, we registered our LLC, and our dream began. We developed a social media strategy and even offered free services for exposure. Our journey has taught us that success doesn’t come overnight. It takes dedication and patience, and it’s okay if you don’t have a ton of leads the first day you start your business, you’ll get there. It wasn’t easy, but consistency and staying true to our passion have been key. In the wedding industry, word-of-mouth is crucial, and we’re proud that many of our bookings come from recommendations and wedding guests who saw our work.

For us, this isn’t just a job – it’s our passion. We’re storytellers, capturing moments that live on infinitely. Ultimately, what matters most to us is the lives we’ve touched and the memories we’ve preserved. If we can help couples and their loved ones relive these precious moments, we’ve done our job.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If our best friend was visiting Los Angeles for a week, we would definitely start the morning with a hike to the Hollywood Sign, then go walk the Venice Canals, and grab a cup of joe at one of the nearby coffee shops. The next day, we’d go on a mega-adventure to Six Flags. The following day, we’d love to go wander the USC campus and grab one of our favorite cupcakes, Sprinkles, near the library, have dinner at Cabra, and watch a late-night comedy show at the Laugh Factory. We would also love to include a Lakers game in our itinerary to watch King Lebron James score a triple-double at the Crypto.com stadium and end the night at Cara Cara for some mocktails and a late-night snack. For the last day, we would go and spend a day in Malibu beach, watch the sunset, and sit seaside while eating delicious sushi at Nobu.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Definitely. This Shoutout is dedicated to Boris’ mom – Larisa Blinderman. She was not only a beautiful soul with a golden heart but also the original memory keeper in the family. She is the one who taught Boris that moments can be frozen and become timeless. Boris’ mom had an incredible talent for creating photo albums and videos filled with precious memories that were later enjoyed. She always went the extra mile by adding special notes, quotes, and songs to every captured moment, making sure the sentiment was also reflected.

With Boris’ mother’s recent passing, these albums and videos allow us to relive those moments and feel her. Her legacy of capturing and cherishing memories is at the heart of what we do at The Moment Catchers and continues to inspire us every single day.
