Hi Maria Elisa, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
Emotional health—if I could give someone a piece of advice, it would be this: work on your emotional health. It will help you navigate the toughest times in your life, and of course, always with faith in God; without Him, there is nothing. I am sure that processing emotions in a healthy way can lead to a better quality of life, a better business, and improved interpersonal relationships.

What should our readers know about your business?
Both my Spanish podcast, “Si entiendo, sano,” and the creative business I share with my husband, “Bahr and Company,” were born with the same mission: to connect with the world through audiovisual means. Sounds, images, opinions—everything creates a connection with someone, following strategies to drive conversions. I always say it: we are in the business of emotions. At Bahr & Company, we work with content creators who generate emotions, and these emotions create a need in the user that leads to conversions.

I began my career in TV and radio in my country, El Salvador, as the host of my own shows, where I learned to connect with my audience through content. Then Facebook came along, and I had to reinvent myself. Next came Instagram, and now TikTok. All that experience creating content across different platforms is what has made me the creative I am today—both for my own brand and social media, my podcast, and as the creative head of Bahr & Company. Creating has always been my passion, and with the network of creators we manage at our company, we help other companies build their own identity and achieve conversions on their social media.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
For me, the city where I live is one of the most spectacular wonders of the world! San Diego, CA, is truly beautiful, so it’s not difficult to create a complete itinerary for friends when they visit. From the charming city of Carlsbad with its incredible beaches to La Jolla, where you can see seals in their natural habitat and enjoy its crystal-clear waters—wow, it’s stunning. And definitely, one of my favorite places in the world is the San Diego Zoo and its safari. If you’re an animal lover like me, you must visit these two places, where you can see animals up close. It’s an unparalleled experience, with everything from zebras, pandas, and polar bears to my personal favorites: koalas, as well as bears and all kinds of birds. Visiting the animals is very relaxing for me. Balboa Park, which is very close to the zoo, is also a place you have to visit. It has beautiful architecture, and you’ll always find talented people singing, taking photos, or having a picnic outdoors—such a lovely place!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I owe it to God. I come from a broken family and a cycle of violence that needed to be broken, and if it weren’t for God, I wouldn’t be here talking with you today. It’s the only explanation for why I am here now, helping others and discussing mental and emotional health, domestic violence, and other topics that are “normally” still taboos in our society. that’s how my podcast “Si entiendo. Sano” was born, in order to help others with my personal experiences. God gave me the strength to seek answers, to focus on myself and heal childhood wounds so that I could break the cycle and now help others do the same, learning to love ourselves with all that we are and all that we are not too. And this is the foundation of my creative and amazon ads business with my husband too, ” Bahr and Company” ,We create content pieces for brands with love, strategies to increase sales through Amazon and TikTok, using resources and emotions that connect in the most genuine way with the audience. At our company, we know that if we create with love, the result is always satisfying.
