Meet Mariana Flores | Actress

We had the good fortune of connecting with Mariana Flores and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mariana, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Since I was a little girl, I was always involved in plays, and art classes, and as I grown, movies where what I was really into, I remember memorizing the dialogues in the movies, it would make feel part of it, it also helped me with my accent, because I put a lot of effort in getting the dialogue right and similar to the actor’s voice, I would watch movies over and over again, hear and repeat the lines so many times that I end up annoying my sister so many times. Film and TV is something I am really passionate about, I think and I see it as something magical, it helps people in so many ways, not just to entertain, they really make you feel part of them, and the process of it, to be part of it, its just really fascinating to me.
Last year I had the opportunity to work with Macarena Achaga and Juan Pablo Di Pace in the TV Show “Travesuras de la niña mala” for VIX+,I played the role of Ana a revolutionary woman who strongly believes communism will help her and her country, this role was completely different from what I’ve ever done, I also got the opportunity to shoot in Europe (Paris) and several part in Mexico, it was such a challenge, especially because we all had to lear how to do a Peruvian accent for the characters since this TV show is based on the Nobel from Mario Vargas Llosa, but I was so glad I was able to overcome any fear or difficulty I had.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
There’s been a lot of obstacles in my career, but one major would be “fear”. Such a small word can cause so many damages in any area of your life. I have personally found, that keep working on my craft, learning new things, taking classes, exposing myself and getting out of my confront zone, encourages me to grow, get to know myself even more and impulses me to continue believing in myself, its not easy, but the more a do it, the better things are, and a very important key for me is to have faith, to trust my work, because I love my job, I love to act and I love bringing characters to life and along the way being able to be part of something so magical.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I always take my family to MOZZA, Stout, StellaBarra, the Grove at the Americana at Brand, I love the observatory at Griffith Park, Santa Monica Beach, Malibu, the Getty, Barns and Nobel if you enjoy reading books.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
If there is someone I’d like to dedicate this, it would be to my parents, my dad always believed in me even when I didn’t, supported me all the way, economically and even when there were moments when I thought I should just go back to my country and give up, he encourage me to continue, and my mom, has been a great pilar in my life, after my father passed away, she kept pushing me and believing in me, telling me, Ive always been capable of doing anything I put my mind on. My parents have always been a great and important key to my career and my success, ill alway be incredibly grateful for their support.
