We had the good fortune of connecting with Mario “Wizzo” Fernandez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mario “Wizzo”, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Ownership. Building your own brand, The power to live my life on my own terms. Being able, and willing to start your own business is not an easy feat, but Its all about consistency and patience. Trust the process.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My biggest attribute is my understanding of technology and engineering. Early on in my life I spent a lot of time educating myself in tech, I even got a BS from a trade school in Technology. But that proud moment of completing traditional education was overshadowed by my understanding that working for some one else, and working for so long, as I was only 21 when I became a professional in my tech carrier. The thought of sitting at a desk for 25yrs to achieve what I believed was a low salary, compared to my ambitions, that didn’t settle well. I ended up quitting my job to peruse music, as I always wanted to impact people. Music has always been the medium that connects people, helps people and also moves people. This property of music’s intrinsic value drove me to a life long passion. For a while I was a bit upset that I spent so many years in a profession that seemingly just wasted the earlier part of my life. But soon after I was gaining traction in music production it seemed apparent that the skills I had acquired along the way were the ones that would help me stand out.

That surely happened. I was the only person in recording and producing sessions that didn’t need a computer guy, or a software plug, or help with any tech… I was my own computer guy! Taking a step back I realized being a computer/tech professional in a field increasingly adopting technology for music production soon became my greatest strength.

Now I am a bridge to my music network. I bring technology and innovation to all my ventures. In a disruptive world where many of the old ways are being replaced by an app or an online process, being a technology professional and musician is the greatest gift I could ever achieve.

With these skills I have been able to start my own company Bitstream Audio. Our product disrupts the music creative process by allowing producers with different software used to create music to collaborate in real time. I have also partnered up with Trubify.com a new platform that completely takes the music industry by the horns. Fuck the middle man is what its all about, it helps creators, to get payed for their content. The platform pays out .02$ per live stream! That’s unheard of, it completely blows anything out of the water. Facebook, IG, Twitch and tictok cant even compare as they pay barely a fraction of a penny.

I am truly blessed and excited to be working on new and disruptive technology that will help content creators and musicians alike.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Hands down my favorite spot in the city is Montys Burger. Being a vegetarian, LA has dope spots to eat, dont just take my word for it!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My family. They drive me to wake up every day and do better. My family has endured and gone through so much just so my siblings and I can have an opportunity in this country to flourish. Knowing that they dropped everything they beloved in, just to give me a better opportunity drives me to do better each day.
