We had the good fortune of connecting with Mark Carrillo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mark, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
Ultimately if you believe in what you are selling. Actually have a true passion for it, you will have an advantage over someone that believes in only a dollar value.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I have taken a Hot Rod Parts shop, attached a complete Record Shop, added some Americana collectibles and even built a 1952 Gas Station outdoor music venue. Possibly the most difficult build ever, started in an economic recession and had to battle through a devastating time with the Covid-19 outbreak. What I would want the reader, or any visitor to shop, to know is that I have a passion for what I do that runs deep. Those that talk in depth with me realize it quickly. Truly couldn’t have survived without it.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Honestly, in a 2 block radius of my shop are some of the most fantastic restaurants & bars imaginable. Fantastic Soul/BBQ, American or Mexican set in the surroundings of a beautiful Historic Downtown. For a great time I would suggest catching one of my intimate concerts, as we have people now flying in for them. Not to mention renting a vintage trailer for the week along the lake. Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My soon to be wife Jacqueline has been supportive as could be and has helped me open my mind a bit to encompass a bit more for everyone.
