We had the good fortune of connecting with Markeisha Hall, M.A. and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Markeisha, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I wanted to create something that would fill an important need and make a positive impact. As someone who has had first-hand experience of raising a child with disabilities, I understand how difficult and emotionally challenging it can be for parents. I wanted to create something that could help alleviate some of that stress, so I developed the concept of my business which provides resources and support for moms raising kids with disabilities.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I got to where I am today professionally through a combination of my education, experiences, and drive. My M.A. in early childhood special education and being the mother of an autistic child gives me an invaluable insight into the lives of parents raising kids with disabilities. Starting my own business wasn’t easy, but I was determined to create something that could help alleviate some of the outside stressors parents face on a daily basis. To do this, I had to learn how to navigate a range of business topics including operations, marketing, sales and finance. Along the way I’ve also had to overcome personal doubts about my ability to make it work, which has taught me that no challenge is too difficult when you have the passion and drive necessary to succeed.

Ultimately, what I want the world to know about me and my brand is that it is more than just a business—it is a community built upon providing support and understanding for those who need it most. My mission is to provide practical solutions so that parents can focus on nurturing their relationship with themselves and their child without having additional outside worries weighing them down.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
There are so many places to go in Cali but if I had to make an itinerary this is what it would look like:ay

Day 1: Start off the trip by exploring the iconic Santa Monica Pier and 3rd Street Promenade. Enjoy a stroll down the boardwalk, visit local shops and restaurants, and maybe even try out some carnival rides!

Day 2: Spend the day in Hollywood exploring world-famous attractions like the Walk of Fame, Universal Studios Hollywood, and Griffith Observatory. In the evening, catch a show at one of Hollywood’s famous venues such as The Hollywood Bowl or The Pantages Theatre.

Day 3: Take a road trip to San Diego and explore Sea World San Diego. Go on thrilling roller coaster rides or take part in fun interactive activities at this theme park. In the evening, enjoy a beautiful sunset cruise on Coronado Bay for amazing views of the city skyline.

Day 4: Drive up to Anaheim for a fun filled day at Disneyland Park & California Adventure. Take lots of pictures with your favorite Disney characters and ride thrilling roller coasters all day long! End your day by watching Disneyland’s nightly fireworks display.

Day 5: Make your way up to Solvang in Santa Barbara County for some good ol’ fashioned wine tasting. Spend your afternoon walking around Solvang’s many unique stores and restaurants before heading back for an evening swim in one of Southern California’s gorgeous beaches (think Malibu or Zuma).

Day 6: Head over to Los Angeles’ famous Arts District to spend a few hours exploring art galleries, boutique shops, trendy eateries, and cultural venues like museums and theatres. Don’t forget to get some great street art shots while you’re there too!

Day 7: Finish off your southern california adventure with a day in beautiful Laguna Beach. Spend some time relaxing on the beach, swimming in its crystal clear waters, surfing some waves or enjoying amazing views from one of its numerous lookouts. End the day with a delicious seafood dinner at one of Laguna Beach’s renowned eateries

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?

I believe that I owe a great deal of my success to the support and encouragement of those around me. In particular, my husband Andre Hall has been an unwavering source of strength and support throughout all of my endeavors, while my sister Marleisha Rubin has constantly provided me with unconditional love and belief in myself. Moreover, during my time as a special education teacher, I was surrounded by supportive parents who encouraged me to keep doing my best for their children. All these people have helped to shape who I am today, and for that I will be forever grateful.
