We had the good fortune of connecting with Markell Titov and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Markell, how do you think about risk?
I believe that risk is an integral part of success in life and business. History is full of examples when people, risking everything, and for frequent life, turned their routine around and achieved great success and public recognition. I would say that risk is an additional pushing, motivating tool. When we take risks, we often make incredibly difficult decisions. Looking back, we do not understand how it happened. But the fact remains that we did what was required and got the result.
My story is no exception. After school, I graduated from the university with a degree in Marketing. I worked for the Bank for 7 years. I was a real estate appraiser and would come into my office in a white shirt and trousers and work at the computer all day. Permanent job, good salary and many other benefits. What else is needed for happiness? I will say that: you need to find your favorite business with which you will burn. And I took a chance. I sent to one of the best restaurants in Moscow with a request to take me as an assistant in the kitchen, without a salary. I had a desire and I wanted to learn. and they took me. At first I cleaned and washed vegetables, and also did the simplest work. And soon I was standing like a Line Cook, proud and happy. I worked in the office in the morning and in a restaurant in the evening. And so it went on for several years.
I ended up in the absolutely right place, where I was taught how to work with products, cook and love guests. I still spread this knowledge in my business and teach other chefs. 4 years ago we arrived in Los Angeles without knowing anyone or anything. Me and my wife risked everything and now we’re here. We have a wonderful daughter. Now I am a Chef, my company provides catering and private chef services in Los Angeles. We serve various events; weddings, birthdays and more. We feed NBA players and some celebrities. We will develop our business and it is a great honor for us to provide quality services to all our guests. It is through risk that we succeed!

What should our readers know about your business?
Our food service differs from others by flexibility, unusual – delicious recipes and a high level of service. We always take into account all the wishes of customers, be it food restrictions or other features. Our recipes are created by a Chef who knows everything about delicious food. We do a lot from scratch; pasta, flatbread and more. We do not use semi-finished products. Most importantly, we are easy to communicate with; you just need to tell us the date, number of people and food preferences. All the magic starts when our professional team gets to work. Nothing comes easy. Every day we solve difficult problems and fight. But trust me it’s worth it. As soon as we see happy people eating our food. Everything comes from our hearts and I believe that everything works out for us.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Los Angeles is a wonderful city. There is everything you need for a holiday. When my friends come to visit our day looks something like this: Breakfast – Dialogue Cafe. A wonderful place in West Hollywood where delicious and cozy. After we head to Manhattan Beach to enjoy the ocean. From there to Korea Town and there we try Korean BBQ and Soju.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Of course, without the support of relatives, friends and some materials from their Internet, I would not have been able to achieve anything. I am infinitely grateful to my wife Ronel – thanks to her I began to cook professionally and found a business that I love. It happened by itself. I read a lot of different books and articles, I don’t remember the specific name of the Cook, but the article was dedicated to him. How he decided to change his life and went to work in a restaurant. After reading this article, I sent my resume the same day to that restaurant where I ended up working for several years.
