We had the good fortune of connecting with Marla Stone and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marla, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
During the time I was a former psychotherapist, I helped 1000’s of people heal from trauma. With my organizing/decluttering business, I-Deal-Lifestyle Inc continues to help people daily, to not only get space organized and companies organized, we help everyone reach an organized inner life, not a mundane life. Helping each individual, family, or business is our goal. We facilitate people to change their language to eliminate impeding language and to increase productivity 10-fold. This idea of improving how one talks to reach goals and dreams has spread through people’s lives and communities. The book I wrote, The Clutter Remedy: A Guide To Getting Organized For Those Who Love Their Stuff, is not only about decluttering space, but more importantly, decluttering strategies that are not working for you any longer. It is about reaching the ultimate and ideal life that you deserve.

What should our readers know about your business?
Going from actress to social worker to psychotherapist and then starting a professional organizing/design business has been an amazing life journey. My love for acting turned into a love for helping others to self improve and blossom. My psychology background and the years of experience organizing homes, businesses, and lives lent to writing an extensive blog, and then finally a book published by New World Library, the same publisher as Eckart Tolle, Deepak Chopra, and Dan Millman. The stress of being a new author with an established publisher was not easy. I dug deep to pull out everything I could think of to help people understand what I knew and had experienced in life. I am grateful to continue now helping people dream up their ideal lifestyle and write more books to share my inner and outer experiences in life.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
As a native Southern Californian, I would first go to The Huntington Library for the entire day and have lunch in the Chinese garden. Roaming through the library is my favorite thing to do, and then, of course, Huntington’s beautiful home and gardens, Australian, cactus, Japanese, rose, and Chinese gardens are like being in heaven. Then, of course, the next day would be The Norton Simon Museum to see all the gorgeous impressionist artwork by Monet, and Van Gogh and all the great masters and the beautiful Degas ballerinas. Then, of course, visiting all the small and quaint beach towns of South Orange County: Newport, Laguna, Dana Point, and San Clemente. These beach towns all have their own personality and things to do. In Newport, I would take the car across the ferry to the balboa island and have lunch on the boardwalk. In Laguna, I would visit Romeo Cucina Restaurant and then stroll through all the Laguna art galleries. In Dana Point, I would take a long walk in the Harbor and perhaps a boat to Catalina. In San Clemente, I would walk the pier and eat at the Fisherman, then take a long walk on Del Mar and visit all the cute shops and pop into Casa Romantica!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to give my publisher New World Library a shoutout for producing books that change people’s lives. They helped me become a better writer, author, and communicator. I am grateful to them for publishing my book and many author’s books that have a message for self-improvement and great information for self-realization.
