We had the good fortune of connecting with Marlon Bordenave and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Marlon, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor in my success has always been my walk with Christ. Through the ups and downs, I have always found strength through my faith. The process to get where I am now has been a long journey, but I gained valuable experience along the way and met some amazing people. We owe a great amount of gratitude to the people who afforded us the opportunity to showcase our award-winning chili. It’s been a great honor to tour with Jermichael Finley ElevateU youth football camp across America and provide gourmet lunches to our upcoming youth. We look to inspire and motivate our youth to become the next great leaders in serving their purpose. God deserves all the glory!
What should our readers know about your business?
Our chili is like no other and has a unique flavor profile that has garnered a high demand and multiple awards. Being a Veteran Owned and Operated company we are proud to have toured many events with Veterans and traveled the United States serving our award-winning chili customers have come to love. It definitely was no easy road to get to where we are now, but God deserves all the glory for keeping us grounded enough to gain valuable lessons from each obstacle. You learn to develop more patience and stay consistent in your approach to each task at hand. We are well known for our famous chili, but we are a company founded and guided by Biblical principles we believe hold true to operating a great business. Our mission is to pursue excellence in all we do to provide the most exceptional experience for each person we come into contact with. Everyone who works at BY-YOU DOGG plays a critical role in our mission and we aim to build leaders, innovators, and a workforce with a positive mindset
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Can’t come to LA without going to a Dodgers game. All the Dodgers need for the best experience is our award-winning chili over their fries at the stadium and hands down no park is beating that experience. Some of my personal favorites to eat in LA including my all-time favorite In-N-Out is Howlin’ Rays, Daikokuya Little Tokyo, and if I am back in the city Tam’s Burgers in Compton. If you go a little further out you definitely have to go to Famous PUDN and Tiso Curryative Cuisines, Best of the Best! A fun-filled week for me definitely involves sports and in LA we have them so a day out at the Crypto Arena would be on the agenda for sure and if you know me you know I am by heart a Packers fan above anything else so we are going to a bar, So Cal Packers Backers watch spot, or a front porch with a TV doesn’t matter we are not missing one play, NOT MY SUNDAY lol. I love to fish too so going out on a charter boat to do some deep-sea fishing and coming back to make some beer-batered fish tacos with lime is my kind of day.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Andrea Gonzalez, Jermichael Finley, Jamaal Charles, Taylor Walker, Keke, Anothony Oliphant/The Creator, Lance Pinnick, Made Local Market, TheDrewCave, SoCalPackerBackers, Litty Liberty Crew, Brittanie Curtis, 6values.el, Brandon Gagnon, The Green Bay House, Datone Jones, FamousPUDN, Justinthejet300, Christian Isaia, Candina Benjamin, Asia Lowry, Audrey Nuby, Maurice Nuby, and Tiso Curryative Cuisines.
