Hi Marquette, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
As a father to two amazing boys and a husband to my beautiful wife, everything I do is rooted in family. I started Modern Moments because I wanted to create something lasting—something that could grow with us and eventually be passed down. I wasn’t just building a business; I was building a legacy.

My goal was to create a space where creativity could thrive, where our community could come together to celebrate life’s milestones, and where my family could be involved every step of the way. I wanted to show my kids that with vision, hard work, and faith, you can build something meaningful from the ground up. This business is more than a source of income—it’s a foundation for generational wealth and an opportunity to leave something behind that matters.

What should our readers know about your business?
Modern Moments isn’t just a business—it’s a vision brought to life. We’re a creative studio and event venue based in Rialto, CA, and we also specialize in wide-format printing services. From intimate celebrations to large-scale events, we provide a space and creative services that help people make meaningful memories. Our print shop side allows us to bring visual ideas to life—everything from custom signs and banners to unique event décor. What sets us apart is that we truly care about the people behind the projects—we treat every event and every print like it’s our own.

I’m most proud of the fact that we’ve built something that reflects both creativity and community. I started this business with my family in mind—especially my two sons. I wanted to create something that could be passed down, something they could be proud of. This is more than a way to earn a living—it’s a way to build generational wealth, leave a legacy, and uplift our community along the way.

Getting here wasn’t easy. Like many entrepreneurs, I faced financial uncertainty, self-doubt, and the steep learning curves that come with launching a business. There were long nights, slow seasons, and moments where I questioned everything. But I overcame those challenges with persistence, faith, and the unwavering support of my wife and kids. Every obstacle taught me something—how to adapt, how to serve better, and how to stay rooted in my “why.”

One lesson I’ve learned is this: the journey matters as much as the destination. Success isn’t just about profit—it’s about impact, relationships, and legacy. I want the world to know that Modern Moments is here to create beauty, connection, and inspiration—not just through events and prints, but through the way we treat people.

Our story is still being written, and I’m excited for what’s ahead.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First and foremost, I want to dedicate my shoutout to my wife and two boys. Their love, support, and patience have been my greatest source of strength. My wife believed in my vision even before it became a reality, and my kids continue to inspire me every day to push harder and build something lasting.

I also want to recognize my parents and extended family, who instilled in me the values of hard work, perseverance, and community. Their example laid the foundation for everything I’m building now.

A huge thank you as well to my mentors and friends—those who offered advice, encouragement, and even tough love when I needed it most. Starting a business is never easy, but their wisdom helped guide me through the challenges.

Lastly, I want to give a shoutout to our local community in Rialto. The support we’ve received since opening Modern Moments has been overwhelming. Seeing people come together in the space we created reminds me daily why this work matters.

This journey is far from over, but I didn’t get here alone—and I’m truly grateful for everyone who’s been part of the story so far.
