We had the good fortune of connecting with Mars Bravo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mars, we’d love for you to start things off by telling us something about your industry that we and others not in the industry might be unaware of?
The sign-making industry is more complex than most people think. It’s not just about printing or fabricating custom logos and text; sign makers have to think about things like how long materials will last, how to integrate lighting, and even how colors and fonts impact the environment. They also have to navigate local zoning laws and size limits to make sure the signs are compliant but still stand out and communicate the message clearly. A good sign needs to be readable from different distances, visible day and night, and tough enough to handle the weather—all while looking creative and functional. The sign-making process mixes graphic design, engineering, and even a bit of psychology, making it a highly specialized and multifaceted field.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business, Signs from Mars, is special because I built it from the ground up just months before the COVID-19 pandemic. One of the main things that sets me apart is the dependable, personalized service I provide to clients, allowing them to focus on growing their businesses while trusting me with their branding. I’m incredibly proud of how quickly I’ve made a mark in the industry, securing partnerships that have let me be part of meaningful change. As a young woman running a business, it is never been easy, but my daily commitment helps me grow and succeed, one step at a time. The knowledge I’ve gained on my journey has fueled my passion to teach others and help keep the sign industry innovative and alive.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend came to visit, they’d know to expect plenty of coffee stops, browsing through bookstores, art galleries, and parks, to experience in L.A. in a more intimate, low-key way. A good day would be to start it at Cafe Dulce in DTLA, to have a great almond milk latte to sip on while exploring antiques at Olde Good Things. Then I’d take them back to the west side for my favorite pizza from Fiorelli in Venice Beach, where we’d head to the sand, catch the sunset, and share stories and creative ideas.
Other places I’d highly recommend are the Last Bookstore, Beyond The Streets art gallery and Ardor Restaurant.
For a beautiful view of the city, the rooftop garden of the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Los Angeles or the top of the Los Liones Trail in Malibu.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Shoutout to SixPax Gym and Siavash Fashi for pushing me to be the best version of myself time and time again and believing in me through the process. The support from our gym community has been so helpful. There’s no way to fail, and for that, I’m forever grateful.
