We had the good fortune of connecting with Marseilles Monet and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Marseilles, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
Growing up in Philadelphia, PA, I was immersed in an environment where everyone was hustling and grinding to achieve their dreams. This atmosphere instilled in me a profound sense of grit and determination, teaching me to relentlessly pursue my aspirations regardless of the challenges I faced.
A pivotal figure in my journey has been my mom. Her support has been instrumental in my success. She drove me to countless auditions, photo shoots, and studio sessions, always standing as my number one supporter. Her constant encouragement and belief in my talents and skills have been a cornerstone of my growth.
My friends back home are equally ambitious and inspiring. Their unwavering support and love have continuously motivated me to strive for greatness. The community I come from has played a significant role in shaping who I am today, and I carry their influence with me in everything I do, and everywhere I go.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Singing and songwriting have always been like a Great Escape for me; A way to pour my heart out and work through the challenges that I have faced. Through my music I believe that I can connect with others who have had similar experiences such as; heartbreak, loss , self discovery, and Faith as well as rebuilding who you are as you journey through life. I am most proud of my writing ability, not just the songs that I’ve shared with others, but the ones they have yet to hear and personal journal prompts that I have written. My writing has opened me up to so many new perspectives and Ideas that sometimes I can hardly believe the things that come from within me. It was no easy path getting to where I am today , and though I still have ways to go, I recognize that I won’t be on this road alone. I love my community and they have really kept me grounded and it’s a true blessing to always have an ear that will listen, or just someone to sit with you during those trying times. I am in the process of rebranding right now, and it’s a beautiful process. So far a few lessons that continue to come up for me is Service and Community. I want my brand to be of service to others. Whether that be something that helps someone to heal, learn to be fearless, Healthy in mind, body, and spirit as well as feeling beautiful.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If My Girlfriends from back home were to visit me they already know I’m a nature girl, so it’s a must that we do a hike. Runyon Canyon is my go to because I would go there almost every Saturday when I was in college. The LACMA muesem is one that I have been to ,but I would also like to share something new with them, so maybe we would doing another musuem like The Getty. I hear a lot about that one. My favorite food places that we would have to hit up are: Bossa Nova, Sushi Stop, Alma at the Grove, Kateen, and Cafe on 27 for brunch. I would also love for them to experience Yamashiro for dinner to see those beautiful views of the city at night. My girls love the day vibes so we have to go to the Rooftops like Mama Shelter and The highlight room in Hollywood because they love their Selfie moments. I’m more of a Day party girly, However I have enjoyed going to the night time clubs every now and then like Dragonfly, The Mayan, and even a few places in West Hollywood.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
