We had the good fortune of connecting with Mathieu Silverman and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mathieu, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
Managing school and work is getting a little harder now that I am in high school. But luckily, I am able to do my auditions after school or weekends and filming has been happening on the weekends. So thankfully, I have figured out a way to be able to manage both. I’m about to start 10th grade and hoping it will be similar this year. School and acting are both very important to me, so I’m hopeful I will able to keep them both balanced without either one being affected. I also have a passion of flying and hoping I will be able to fit that in as well, so I can do my first solo flight when I turn 16 in February.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
First thing I would do is take them to Central Park. From there I would probably take them to the Museum of Natural History which is right across the street. For lunch we would go to Shake Shack. And maybe for dinner we would go for hibachi. Other things I would want to take them to during their stay is a Broadway show or two. Some of my favorite restaurants I would want them to experience are Nobu and Gari. Also, depending on the time of year, we would also go to either a Mets baseball game or a Rangers hockey game. There is so much to see and do in NYC, but these are some of my favorites.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would love to do a shoutout to my Nana and my dad, who have both been very supportive in my passion to fly planes. I would also like to thank my mom for supporting my other passion of acting by taking me to auditions and to sets all over the city.
