Meet Matt & Michelle Vega | Vega Media Productions

We had the good fortune of connecting with Matt & Michelle Vega and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Matt & Michelle, what do you attribute your success to?
For us, it all comes down to attention to the small details. When we started Vega Media Productions we really set out to deliver a creative and artistic experience, with a level of customer service that we felt was lacking in the industry. We take the time to get to know our clients and ask in depth questions so we understand who they are, what their target audience is and most importantly to us how the final photograph or video should feel.
From the way something is shot, to the music selection, to the flow of the editing, and the way something is color graded, we create an attention grabbing photo or video that feels like a cinematic experience. Clients come to Vega Media because they want a level of quality that makes their brand or business feel premium and stand out from their competition. They come to us because in today’s marketing world anyone can produce content on a cell phone and to stand out you need a media company that knows how to elevate the perception of your brand. Just as we saw the trend of TV shows increase their production quality to rival and sometimes surpass movies, we see the future of social media marketing heading in that direction and we’re proud to be at the forefront of that movement.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Michelle and I were at a really dark point in our lives before we started Vega Media. I was struggling with some really difficult health issues and could barely get out of bed. Michelle was in the middle of dealing with some incredibly stressful family issues and at the same time she was trying to take care of me. We had a trip planned to go to Hawaii that we honestly didn’t think would happen. A week before the trip we were still trying to figure out if I would even be able to make it through the flight. Michelle kept saying that she had this feeling that we needed to go, so we took the gamble and hopped on the plane.
Although the trip was not what we planned, the fact that I didn’t feel up to doing many things turned out to be an incredible blessing. I had always loved taking photos on vacation and Michelle always found the coolest spots or angles to shoot from. On the last day of the trip as we were walking around the hotel, I decided to shoot some footage. Our friends and family absolutely loved the final result. Over the next few months Michelle and I began doing photoshoots and producing videos for our friends who needed content for social media and web marketing. We focused on adding value first and before we knew it, things started to snowball and people wanted to pay us for the work we were doing. There has been so much for us to learn and a ton of hurdles for us to overcome, but we are so grateful that we have the opportunity to do something we love, and something that brings both us and others closer together.
As Vega Media has grown, we still have that same attitude of adding value first. Our logo includes a photo we took on that trip to Hawaii so we can always remember where we started. It’s a reminder that the darkest times can sometimes produce the most amazing results if you just have a little faith and are open to the opportunities that come your way.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We absolutely love food and good views and Los Angeles has plenty of both! In our opinion the best restaurant in the city is Malama Pono in Sherman Oaks. The food is just as amazing as the owners. It’s at top of our list for anyone that comes to town. Some other stops on our food tour would have to include Brews Brothers, Spartina, and Connie and Teds. For cocktails, we’d recommend Melrose Umbrella, Toca Madera, and then for a drink and a view we’d hit either Mama Shelter or The Edition. We’re also patiently waiting for Marcus Lewis formerly of APL BBQ to open his own spot. He’s doing catering now but whenever he opens his own restaurant we will be the first ones in line. His BBQ is insane and he makes the best cornbread you’ll ever taste.
In terms of places to visit, there’s definitely some places we’d want someone from out of town to check out. Runyon Canyon, Griffith Observatory, and some of the Mulholland overlooks are definite musts. We’d have to hit Santa Monica Pier, and drive down the PCH as well as Los Angeles Crest Highway to make sure they got to see both the ocean and the mountains in the same day.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We’re so lucky to live in a time in history where almost anyone has the ability to learn and develop the skills to become almost anything they want. The internet has connected humanity in a way that has never been possible before. For us, we’ve always wanted to accomplish big things in life and add value to as many people as we could. Before we ever could be in a place to do that, we needed to build a solid foundation and we had a lot of internal struggles we needed to overcome. We would not be who we are today without some amazing people that introduced us to ideas and concepts that allowed us to reshape our mindset, how we feel about ourselves, and how we interact and approach struggle.
Tom Bilyeu, David Goggins, Mel Robbins, Tony Robbins, and Ed Mylett, are all people we absolutely adore and cannot thank enough for putting there thoughts out there for anyone to be able to access. Their combined insights on the human experience were invaluable to us in our journey.
For anyone struggling right now or feeling stuck, please do a deep dive on these people’s content. They changed our lives and we hope they can do the same for you.
