We had the good fortune of connecting with Matthew Cammarano and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Matthew, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I’m from the San Fernando Valley I believe the culture and the style that I grew up with completely impacted me today from my dress code my music choice I grew up a white boy between the cultures of the Mexican community and the white community and I am ingrained in both cultures and I love it it’s completely influenced my style my history grow up with graffiti even Sports a little bit and I’m super proud of

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
In growing up I chose the streets as a way to express myself especially graffiti graffiti something I’m completely in love with and I’m super proud of it’s become more acceptable today in a form where it’s basically recognize everywhere as a humongous art form when I was growing up it was shunned and frowned upon and I walked away from it and chose a couple other courses to take my life that have severely affected me in regards to drugs and lifestyle that I’ve worked really hard to overcome and get away from I’ve been sober for 6 1/2 years and I use my history to sponsor other men and help them get sober themselves but graffiti is something that I’ve Gotten into such a peaceful outlet for me as a grown-up🙏🏻🙏🏻

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting I would definitely take him around my hometown of the San Fernando Valley preferably the Mission Hills Granada Hills area where I grew up along with Sun Valley Mission Hills has such a nice middle-class area there’s nice restaurants and they remodeled it a lot lately I’m a huge fan of a restaurant called the bear pit it’s the best barbecue I’ve ever had… It’s sent on Sepulveda Boulevard for most of my memories are made… I would love to take him to the beach maybe Santa Monica Venice where I tend to go when I’m having a hard time I love those areas they’re so original in their design and artistic history I love places like Hollywood as well people like me that are covered in Tattoos tend to feel like home as well I love doing things like miniature golf going to bookstores and I love going to the old-school bookstores mom and pop bookstores that have these small coffee shops and then where you can drink strong coffee and look at some interesting books .

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to give a huge shout out to uncle Jeremy at Sullen Clothing who gave me a chance to model to run social media to work in his conventions to represent his brand which is amazing and one of the best and the only prominent Tattoo clothing company in the world…

I would also like to give a shout out to my mom who stuck by me no matter what I went through in life who I love the most and one of my best friends Phillip Hersh who’s taught me so much.
