We had the good fortune of connecting with Mauricio Nomadic Rodriguez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mauricio Nomadic, what do you want your legacy to be?
I want to leave a stamp in my community, I always wanted to build something in my city that would inspire the next generation coming up , and show them that there’s more to life than our immediate surroundings. Also something that could continue to grow even after I’m gone . I’d want to be remembered as the guy who pushed for change and community.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Im a cinematographer/videographer
Based out of Los angeles county , I believe the one thing that has been setting me apart from others is the fact that regardless of how tough things may get on the road I refuse to give up and just push every day and provide value to anyone I work with one hundred percent of the time. I think one of the things that most excites me in my career besides being able to choose who I work with would be the fact that I get to meet with great individuals and work with some great teams along with the opportunity to travel to places I didn’t think would be possible,
I always had a passion for cameras since a kid in elementary, my mom saved all of my pictures I would take on field trips with the disposable cameras . Crazy thing about it is She didn’t show them too me until she noticed I started shooting with my first “legit” camera. I remember I used to be deep into car culture and I started doing video edits for my buddies and their cars until they started to tell me I should pursue a career in the video field. Took me a minute but I purchased my first camera and started filming car videos and transitioned into music videos shortly after . The road was definitely full of twists and turns and navigating it all was definitely an experience to say the least . Made a lot of mistakes and felt like at times I was wasting my time . I remember there were times where I felt like I should’ve just sold everything and continue to work a regular job . A lot of it had to do with my surroundings so the more doubt I would let people put in my ear the less motivated I would get. The thing I’d say helped me overcome this and actually push to really pursue this dream was me changing my outlook and surrounding me with more positive and influential environments. As soon as I started making these changes I noticed everything change and things started to line up for me and I’m thankful for being able to see the signs. Along with leaving my day job at the height of the covid pandemic and not knowing if work was going to be enough for me to get by shooting video fulltime I just trusted the process and kept it pushing.
Some lessons I have learned along the way would be to always stand for what you believe in respect is everything. One I cant stress on enough is working in this industry and just in general is always make sure you always give 100 percent because by doing that and making sure you provide value the opportunities will come your way. Business wise always make sure you conduct yourself in the right way and always do follow up emails when discussing NUMBERS!

I want the world to see me as the neighborhood dude that was able to overcome the trials and tribulations and create something positive . i really would want to inspire others and show them that you can really turn dreams into reality as cliché as it sounds . I dont consider myself as someone special just a chicano with a dream that decided to chase after it .

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
