We had the good fortune of connecting with Maya Armony and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Maya, do you disagree with some advice that is more or less universally accepted?
‘Do one thing.’ As much as I understand the value of this advice in cultivating focus and productivity, it has always felt like a constraint to my multipassionate soul. I thrive on doing more than one thing—diverse stimulation doesn’t distract me; it fuels me. It’s how I connect dots, solve problems, and create in ways that feel alive and authentic.

I wish someone had told me as a young girl to embrace the multidimensional layers within me and to work in parallel. It would have saved me so much time. But then again, nothing in life is ever wasted. Some of my greatest lessons and blessings have come from trying to be someone I wasn’t—that’s how I discovered who I truly am.

To all my multipassionate friends: honor your many passions. Work in parallel with joy and devotion. Balance is key, and when you embrace the fullness of who you are, the possibilities are endless

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets me apart is my multi-passionate approach. While I have key strengths that I specialize in, I never let my expertise limit my curiosity. I embrace a beginner’s mindset, continuously exploring and growing in every area I touch. Whether I’m crafting a brand identity, designing a book or album cover, capturing brand photos for other mystics, creating an art commission, or guiding deep quantum energy work, I bring a unique blend of creativity, intuition, and empathy to everything I do. I see the world from both a higher, visionary perspective and a grounded, practical one—much like a wise owl.

It’s taken me ten years to fully trust myself as a Mystic. Along the way, I learned to quiet the pessimistic voices and embrace the truth that it’s okay not to be everyone’s cup of tea. It’s okay to be both spiritual and business-focused. It’s okay to not have all the answers, and it’s okay to fail and grow.

The most rewarding part of this journey is that I’ve learned to co-create with the Divine. This connection allows me to problem-solve in ways that transcend my personal understanding, and I now see myself as a vessel for insight, inspiration, and innovation, always aligned with the Highest Good of All.

In the early stages of my business, I was leading from a wounded masculine mindset—striving for recognition, success, and external validation. I believed that proving myself was the key to fulfillment. But in trying to escape the “starving artist” mentality, I found myself deep in it, unable to attract my dream clients and feeling disconnected from my true purpose.

Everything shifted when I began redefining success from within, healing my wounded masculine energy, and aligning with my true essence as a mystic. I learned that true success doesn’t come from chasing external accolades—it comes from aligning with your soul’s purpose, honoring your energy, and leading from the heart. Once I embraced this, everything began to flow.

When people choose to work with me, they are saying yes to their Higher Self and unlocking the infinite potential within both themselves and their project. Together, we create something extraordinary—transformative and purposeful work that leaves a lasting imprint. Along the way, we embrace the journey, letting go of attachment to the outcome, knowing the true reward lies in the creative process itself, with the outcome as a beautiful bonus.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
As a nature lover living high in the Malibu mountains, so close to the sky you feel like you could pluck a shining star and put it in your pocket, I’d start my best friend’s day with a morning quantum meditation, a homemade smoothie, and a grounding hike with my dog, Marley. Afterward, we’d grab coffee or matcha at Blue Bottle and take a stroll to Malibu Pier, where we’d check out the iconic Surfrider Beach. For lunch, we’d either enjoy the stunning views and delicious food at Malibu Farm Café, or I’d whip something up myself—I love cooking.

After lunch, we’d embrace the art of being, giving space for creativity and rest: painting, reading, or a nap under the sun. If we felt like it, we might visit a friend nearby for a sauna experience and a goddess pow-wow filled with magic and open dialogue.

For dinner, we’d turn on our social butterfly mode. I’d leave a cute note for my husband, telling him there’s yummy food in the fridge, before we head out. If we felt like staying local, we’d indulge in fresh sushi at Bui Sushi, then head to DreamLand by Aviator Nation for some dancing. If we wanted to switch things up, we could drive down to Venice, grab a bite at Great White, and then go to Townhouse, a speakeasy-style venue that has a knack for finding bands just before they hit it big.

If we were craving adventure, I’d suggest a NorCal road trip. We’d begin with a peaceful night in Cambria, taking in its coastal charm, before heading up to San Francisco. There, we’d stay in an Airbnb near Ocean Beach and hop on the bus to explore the city, stopping at the legendary City Lights bookstore. Next, we’d head to Mill Valley in Marin County, where the energy of the Redwoods always leaves me in awe. As a coffee lover, we’d visit Equator, a local gem, and check out “Proof Lab,” a surf and skate shop with a laid-back vibe. We’d explore the area’s scenic trails, immersing ourselves in nature. To wrap up our journey, we’d drive the coast to Bolinas Beach, and if the mood strikes us, we’d paddle out for a cold-water surf session!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Wow, where do I even begin? I feel like every year brings a new awakening as I meet my Higher Self, and with it come new insights and aha moments. I’ll start by giving thanks to my very own DNA and work my way outward. First and foremost, I’m deeply grateful to my family for the karmic lessons within this beautifully dysfunctional dynamic. Without my parents and siblings, I wouldn’t have grown into the person I am today—stronger, more resilient, and more compassionate, thanks to both the victories and the challenges we’ve faced together.

On top of that, I owe a great deal to Louise Hay and the Soka Gakkai International (SGI) Organization. Without them, I don’t know if I’d have found the courage within myself that I have today. Louise Hay’s book “You Can Heal Your Life” was a turning point for me. It helped me realize that I am not defined by my circumstances and that I have the power to reshape my reality through devotion and self-love. It was the catalyst that prompted me to begin questioning my beliefs, habits, and the path I was walking.

Shortly after, I discovered the meditation practice of chanting Nam Myoho Renge Kyo through SGI, which profoundly transformed my life. SGI is an international organization based on Nichiren Buddhism, focused on individual empowerment and collective well-being through chanting, self-reflection, and community support. I chanted consistently for six years, and during that time, it became a powerful tool that guided me to explore other holistic modalities. It deepened my understanding of inner peace and helped me cultivate a greater sense of alignment. Today, I integrate a variety of practices—blending meditation, energy work, and self-reflection—to create a robust self-love practice that nourishes my mind, body, and spirit.

Additionally, I’ve had the privilege of being mentored by Janet Elaine Schmidt, whose guidance has been instrumental in my spiritual growth and understanding of quantum consciousness. Janet has taught me how to align with my Higher Self, and she’s shown me how to create from a place of deep authenticity and light. Her wisdom has shaped the way I show up for myself and for others, and I’ll forever be grateful for her support.

Lastly, I’d like to thank the Universe itself for the opportunities and lessons that continue to unfold, guiding me towards the life I am meant to live. Every connection, every challenge, and every blessing plays a part in my journey.
