Meet Meimei Shi | Founder of XS Live Consulting; Singer;

We had the good fortune of connecting with Meimei Shi and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Meimei, we’d love to hear what makes you happy.
I can feel happy in two big aspects: one is when I realize I improved at something; two is when I see my efforts make people happy.

when I improve myself and go through a big challenge, I’ll be more positive about myself and the future and feel deeply happy in my heart.

Also, seeing my job/work can help people, and contribute to society makes my heart warm. I’ll be happy for my meaningful efforts.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I was a trained soprano singer in China and had over 6 years experience of in music education, but I still feel there’s something I missed in my heart and here I am. I got here in LA in the fall of 2022 as a graduate student learning Music Industry at USC. I did my best to keep pace with the fast industry and also work hard. I worked at Pollstar and SXSW. The firstly I got a chance to work at Coachella and Stagecoach. I was over-excited for the great news, but since the visa process, I could not take it and work with my dream company AEG. I was very depressed and thought I missed a world. Even still, I was still applying for jobs. That’s how I started my Lighting Tech position at Trojan Event Service, also learned a ton of acknowledging from there. During that time, I started my own company “XS Live Consulting” and worked with promoters, such as 2plus2, This Is Dance Music and Tunes Lovers. I had a good experience with them, people/customers always had a good time with my company’s service. Recently, I got another chance to work at this year’s Coachella and Stagecoach again. Also, I am going to work at all of LA Goldenvoice’s venues soon, like the NOVO, Peacock Theatre, Shrine, LA Theatre, etc.

Through the past 2023, I learned that sometimes, life will not give you what you want the first time, but don’t worry, just be yourself, and keep working hard, it’ll come to you anyway.

Eat at K-town mostly, also some brunch pl at DT, and some Chinese at Pasadena.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Shoutout to Nima Cheraghi, my best friend, and “mentor”. As a kind person, Nima is never reluctant to help me with big or small questions. At the same time, he also provides a way to let me grow myself. Instead of giving me a fish, he gives me a fishing gear. That helped me a lot. That’s also how ” XS live consulting” formed.
