We had the good fortune of connecting with Melina Vega and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Melina, what is the most important factor behind your success?
To always be relatable and transparent with my audience. We often strive for perfection but as human beings I believe our flaws makes us beautiful individuals.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I like to represent myself as the woman that my child self would look up to. My childhood was full of flaws, insecurities and self doubt. I’m extremely proud that I have overcame all of that and now I can project this positivity, self love and happiness on to my audience. Getting to this point of my life was not easy but with determination and support I was able to get here. There are so many lessons that I’ve learned along the way, and the most important one I want you to remember is to never stop what you are doing because it makes other people uncomfortable.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
A day in Houston with me would look like this. We would start with brunch at the aesthetically pleasing Bloom and Bee where we would snap a lot of Pics for the gram. Right around the corner, we would visit the Galleria to do some shopping and walk down to the beautiful Gerald Hines Waterwall park to snap even more pics for the gram. By now we’re starving so we go down to the River Oaks District to get some delicious lunch at Le Colonial where their French-Vietnamese food is to die for. After lunch we’re definitely doing some window shopping at the shopping center. Now it’s almost time for dinner, and we are driving down to the bay where we’ll having some delicious oysters and enjoy the beautiful sunset at Pier 6.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
If it wasn’t for my husband Jorge Vega I wouldn’t be where I am right now. We got married at the young age of 18 and he made me blossom into the woman that I am today. I told him my influencer dreams and he promised me he would make them a reality.
