We had the good fortune of connecting with Melinda Torres and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Melinda, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I’ve always been drawn to the art of photography and knew at an early age that my passion would someday turn into my career.

There are two roads in life. The one you choose for yourself and the other that someone else chooses for you. I chose my own path to do what I love.

Being my own boss has been the most fulfilling yet challenging because I like to always set the bar higher for myself to be better at what I do.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m a professional Pin-Up, Fashion and Wedding photographer, Creative director of my own photo-shoots and Publisher for my own magazine called Linda Magazine

What sets me apart from others is the style of photography I do.
It’s Editorial, Bold, Colorful and Stylized.

I’m always excited and proud about creating new ideas and making people happy with my work of art.

Working hard and being consistent in what I do has helped me become a professional photographer.

I’ve overcome my challenges by keeping myself positive and motivated. Creative thinking has helped me break barriers.

Lessons I’ve learned along the way have been to always work hard, stay humble and be the best version of yourself.

Don’t ever give up on your dreams and stay focused.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love the beach, so if it’s Spring or Summer we would definitely go and hang out by the ocean. Have some breakfast, visit some museums, art shows, local bands, go hike and shopping

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Ive had a few people give me some advice growing up, but ultimately its been me who pushed myself for wanting something better in life and creating it.
