We had the good fortune of connecting with Melody Pourmoradi and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Melody, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Doing business my own way. There is so much content out there on the exact “how-to’s” to start and run a successful business but what I know for sure is that as an entrepreneur, you really need to pave your own path. It’s easy to follow all the guidance that’s out there but ultimately there will be many instances in business where you need to decide that it’s ok to zig when others are zagging. The success of my brand is propelled by bringing my heart into the business and in doing so, attracting a like-minded group of women who have become a part of our community and our mission. Had I followed all of the business templates out there, I may not have created the community and curriculum that is now out there changing lives.
What should our readers know about your business?
The GiRLiFE Academy is in essence a coaching school where we train women to run impactful and profitable girls empowerment workshops. Their main role is to teach girls that they possess the power to do and be anything that they can imagine for themselves. What sets this business apart from others is that we’ve really niched down so that women who want to coach girls specifically can really get a very focused and integrated education in the girls empowerment field. I got to where I am today by having a single pointed focus. My “big WHY” was so clear that as long as I use it as my north star, the inspired actions come to me easily What I want everyone to know is that if I could do this, you can do it too. The secret to my success is the heart-centered approach I take in my business. I never feel like there’s anything I “have to” do. It’s always a “get to” do for me. I am always very aware of how I created this business by design to reflect my values and my hopes for the future of girls/women. The strong soul connection to my mission has been the foundation of every right move that i’ve had the honor of making.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
While I don’t live there now, Laguna is like a second home to me. We would start out watching the sunset on the beach by The Surf and Sand Hotel. Then we would head to Nick’s to grab a drink and then have dinner. at Oak. By day, we would take a yoga class with one of my favorite teachers. I love Bobbi Hoos and Amber Melanie and then we would hit the Chakra Shack, my favorite crystal shop in Laguna. A must-visit is also Sounds Spectrum, my favorite store to get vintage records and other music paraphernalia.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
This is a beautiful question and the answer is quite simple for me to answer. The coaches that I’ve had the honor of training who are out there delivering the GiRLiFE message to the girls in their local communities — these are the women who deserve the greatest shoutout. By saying yes to this mission, they’re making it their life’s work to introduce girls to their superpowers and teach them all about how to move through this world with confidence, kindness and courage.
