We had the good fortune of connecting with Michael Coley and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Michael, why did you pursue a creative career?
In the beginning, I was a quiet child who struggled to share my emotions and feelings with others. However, acting became my outlet—a space where I could express myself freely and fully. Through performing, I found a deep connection to my emotions, making acting not just a passion but also a form of therapy. It allows me the freedom to release everything I feel without hesitation. I am committed to pursuing this path relentlessly, striving to reach a pinnacle where my family and friends can witness the rewards of my dedication and see just how far my passion has taken me.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am an actor with a deep passion for storytelling, and my ultimate dream is to write, direct, and produce my own ideas. Every day, I strive to turn my passion into a career where I wake up excited to work, collaborate, and create alongside incredible artists. This journey has blessed me with the opportunity to meet and learn from some of the most talented actors and directors in the industry. Every encounter has helped me grow, shaping me into the person and professional I am today.

I’ve always believed that rejection isn’t the end—it’s simply a sign that a particular opportunity wasn’t meant for me. Instead of letting the word “no” discourage me, I use it as motivation to keep searching for the opportunity that is. The things we truly desire aren’t meant to come easily; the harder we work, the more meaningful the reward when we finally achieve our goals.

Like many, I faced significant challenges during the 2020 pandemic and the recent actors’ strike. Those moments tested my morale, but they never broke my spirit. If anything, they reinforced my determination. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned—and continue to learn—is the importance of perseverance. I know I have to work twice as hard as the next person, and that’s why I always stay ready. Because in this industry, it’s easier to stay ready than to get ready.

More than anything, I want the world to know that I am a force to be reckoned with. I am a prodigy. I am reliable. I am great. And no matter the project, I will always show up and give my absolute best—because that’s who I am, and that’s what I love to do.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take my best friend somewhere we could create a brand-new memory—something we’ve never done before, like going to a shooting range, jet skiing, or even scuba diving. I love stepping outside the ordinary, so whatever we choose, it would be an experience we’d always remember.

If we decide on a week-long trip, I have to admit that sticking to an itinerary would be a challenge since I’m more of a spur-of-the-moment type of person. However, I would definitely plan a relaxation day—maybe a beach day—to just unwind and take in the moment. I also love trying new restaurants, and since I’m a big fan of Fogo de Chão, I’d want to check out a great Brazilian steakhouse.

I truly believe that people who love nature have the most fun, and I count myself among them. I love exploring hikes, oceans, and meadows—there’s something about being surrounded by nature that makes every experience feel more meaningful. Those are the kinds of adventures that excite me the most.

I want to dedicate this shoutout to my amazing parents, whose unwavering love and support have meant everything to me. They never once discouraged me as I chased my dreams, always believing in me even when the road was uncertain. Their encouragement, sacrifices, and faith in my journey have shaped the person I am today, and for that, I am forever grateful.
