We had the good fortune of connecting with Michelle Harrison and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Michelle, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind my success has been trust. With a background in Psychology and 25 years as an esthetician, I’ve always understood that people aren’t just coming in for a service- they’re placing themselves in a very vulnerable position. Creating a safe, confidential, and judgement free space has been foundational to my work.

Listening closely, being attentive to both spoken and unspoken needs, and consistently delivering high-quality results has allowed me to build long term relationships and a loyal clientele. When clients feel respected, heard and cared for, they return and they refer. That combination of technical skill and integrity is what has sustained my career and brand over time!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What truly sets me apart is my energy and authenticity. I’ve been told hundreds of times that I bring light into the room, and that “sunshine” is something I don’t manufacture- its who I am. My curiosity about people is genuine. When I ask questions, it’s never out of noisiness or small talk; it comes from real interest, empathy, and a desire to understand the person in front of me.

With a background in psychology, I naturally connect on a deeper level. I’m empathetic by nature, and that allows me to create a space where people feel seen, heard, respected and safe. I’m deeply open to all cultures, genders, orientations, and family structures, and that inclusivity is reflected in my work. I proudly provide hair removal services for all genders- something many professionals still don’t offer which has allowed me to serve a wider, often underserved community with care and dignity.

I am most proud of the longevity of my career and the realationships I’ve built. Getting to where I am today wasn’t always easy, but it required consistency, humility and resilience. All of which I have had since I was a teenager. I was a young mother… but I digress..

One lesson I’ve learned is that your reputation is everything. Skills and integrity matter. I am intentional about my branding, my confidential, judgement free environment. Yet we still have belly laughs and it is light!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m a Gemini, so my ideal day in LA is a little bit of everything! I love showing people how much culture and variety this city has to offer. I’d start with something outdoors (love Runyon) it’s close to home and beautiful. We could go down to the beach to walk and take in all that offers (including the Venice canals).

I’m all about soaking the arts. I love catching live music. The BlueNote is my hands down favorite and I have been there about 5 times since they opened in August. I love the theater of all kinds, small or big performances. Wandering through an art gallery or cultural event makes me happy! LA has such a creative pulse, and there is always something happening if you’re open to exploring.

When it comes to food and drinks, I’m flexible. I love a great meal. I’m just as happy grabbing a bite at a casual spot or sitting in a dive bar with good energy as I am getting dressed up for a more elevated dinner. For me, I could do a scene or not. It’s more about the experience, good conversation, good vibes and feeling connected.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have to give a heartfelt shoutout to my family and fiance’, whose constant love, encouragement, and belief in me have been my foundation. Their support has allowed me to stay grounded and confident, even during challenging times.

I’m also incredibly grateful to my clients, many of whom have been with me for years. Their trust, loyalty, and referrals are the greatest compliment to my work and the reason I continue to love what I do.

Lastly, my friends- who have supported me, cheered me on and reminded me to celebrate the wins along the way. I truly wouldn’t be where I am without this circle of support.
