Meet Miles Jones | Musician & Content Creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Miles Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Miles, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
To be honest, I think for me pursuing an artistic career was kind of inevitable. I definitely contribute a lot of this to my upbringing and the environment I was constantly around at a young age. Up until high school I was in a homeschool co-op, which was basically like being homeschooled with 30 different kids. I think this really helped me cultivate my creativity because the curriculum I learned growing up placed a heavy emphasis on the creative arts; so at a very young age I became accustomed to embracing my creativity. I’m also insanely lucky to grow up with two older brothers that are extremely talented and creative. My oldest brother Hunter, is a professional surfer and filmmaker and my other brother Blake is the most talented musician I know. We’re all literally best friends, and it’s such a blessing because our entire lives we’ve been collaborating creatively and never really thought much of it. With all that being said, I don’t think I can really take much credit for pursuing an artistic career because it honestly just felt like the natural progression for my life.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My passion and career is music. I’ve been making music with my brother Blake under the name of “Blake and Miles” for around 7 years, and our first release was back in 2019. We make all of our music out of our garage, it’s where we started and there’s something special about it. Our entire goal is to just make music that makes people feel. When you listen to “Blake and Miles” we want the energy that we pour out into our music to translate to the listeners. Lately we’ve really honed in on finding our sound, and the new music we have coming is something I can’t wait for people to experience for themselves. I think the most exciting part about this journey is that we truly feel like we are just getting our feet wet. We’re 7 years in as a duo, and we both feel like we haven’t even scratched the surface of where we’re really going to take things. What we have in the pipeline is really special. I’m excited.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My itinerary is pretty simple. It definitely includes some beach days. I’ve lived in LA my whole life and there are great beaches everywhere, but Manhattan beach is my go-to for a chill beach day. If we’re grabbing a drink, I love EP & LP, or the proper hotel if you’re down to go into debt after one night. In terms of food, I’m a big fan of Laurel Hardware in West Hollywood. I like Elephante and Perch as well. But I’m also down to just grab some in-n-out. There’s so many spots in LA you can’t really go wrong.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have to give a shoutout to my two older brothers Hunter and Blake. These dudes are my best friends, mentors, business partners, and competition all in one. As the youngest sibling, I can’t even express how fortunate I am to have two older brothers that act as an example/roadmap to success; I feel very lucky because not everyone can say that. I also definitely have to show love to my parents. They have always been extremely supportive of me in whatever it is that I’ve wanted to pursue and I think because of that support I’ve been able to approach certain things in life with a level of fearlessness that they have instilled in me. One more that I have to mention is my old club basketball coach JP. He taught me so much about myself and about the mindset that you have to adopt in order to be successful. Those things have stuck with me since. The list of people I could thank goes on and on, but those are just a few.
