Meet Minh Ta | Musician

We had the good fortune of connecting with Minh Ta and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Minh, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
It started when I dropped out of highschool at the age of 16. I wasn’t the greatest kid growing up, and I had a lot of trouble listening and paying attention to orders. I was at a place where I felt like I had nothing to lose, and so I started taking music seriously which was a passion and an escape since I was younger.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I go by demxntia— I’m an independent Vietnamese mixed genre artist from Tampa, Florida. What sets me apart from others is the fact that I create every genre, from R&B to alternative rock, from hip-hop to EDM. Everything is recorded, produced, mixed and mastered by me. It has been a very difficult 6 years with a ton of obstacles, but I believe that with both quantity and quality, if you adapt and don’t give up you’ll never fail. A lesson I learned was the importance of branding, networking, and marketing. I want people to know I’m a Highschool drop out who changed his life around by releasing a song twice a month, in hopes of inspiring others in similar or worse circumstances, and that said circumstances never determines the outcome!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I live in a small and quiet town in central Florida and to be honest I’m a bit of a workaholic so there isn’t much leisure time. We’d mainly hang out in my studio, and probably go out to my favorite vietnamese restaurants, hotpot, and/or some Japanese bars restaurants in Tampa hahaha

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to give a shout-out to my girlfriend for trusting the process and letting me do what I had to do when I had nothing.
