Meet Misinformation | Band

We had the good fortune of connecting with Misinformation and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Misinformation, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
The both of us have always had a connection to music. “Music has always been a part of my identity. Ive always been the music person in every room I step into, I can’t imagine my life without some type of musical aspect or career, whether big or small.” -Frank. We have always believed also that we could offer a perspective that relates to a common person, because we are working to be able to make music.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Frank: I started off making music in college before I decided to leave after my fourth semester. It started off as a way to cope with my problems but it quickly turned into the other half of my life. I was making beats in Ft.Worth Texas but in 2016 at the age of 21 I decided to make the move to LA and I never looked back. The first two years were tough on me. I didn’t have a consistent engineer nor enough money to record my demo records at a studio but I kept making music and talking to people until I eventually met our engineer/bass player Erik Colvin back in 2018. Once I met him, I was able to hone in on my craft and gain more confidence on the mic. I made strictly rap music until Tean and I decided to form Misinformation back in 2020 when everyone was stuck at home because of the pandemic. Looking back six years later, I’m not mad at the path of how I got to where I’m at today. It definitely gave me the drive and content to keep making songs that I feel relate to a a lot of people regardless of age, gender, or class.
Tean: Ever since I was a little kid I can remember playing music in some capacity. At this point I have been playing and recording music for over 15 years as well so to say that there have been some tough times would be an understatement. Through it all though I have always loved to create, and all the hard times have only fueled the art. The one thing that I can say now is that I enjoy making music for myself regardless of the outcome, and the process is what I love most.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Frank: I would probably take them to eat brunch at this spot called Diablo in Echo Park. They have bomb food and $10 bloody Mary’s & Maria’s. Then I would probably go to brand park and do a hike there because its more low-key and not full of tourist like Runyon. After we will go to quarters in Koreatown for dinner and then if we wanted to get a drink we could hit Founders Alehouse in the Pico Robertson area.
Tean: I would probably want to take them to the Griffith observatory, because I really like space shit haha, then I would probably want to take them to a show at the Fonda because that is my favorite venue in LA.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Tean: I would always like to thank everyone in my close circle who have always supported me in all that I have done. Doing anything worthwhile doesn’t happen in a vacuum, and I would not be where I am to day without the support of others.
Frank: I would like to give a shoutout to my family for always loving me regardless of where I’ve been at during my journey through life. I also want to make sure that hip hop music gets some love as well because without it, I wouldn’t have been into music the way I am as an adult.
