Meet Mo Shareef | Business Owner – Producer – Filmaker

We had the good fortune of connecting with Mo Shareef and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mo, what role has risk played in your life or career?
As a young person, the idea of taking risks is pretty exciting to me. I feel like I have the freedom to take chances and see where they lead. For me, risk-taking is all about grabbing opportunities and pushing myself to try new things.
One of the reasons I’m so open to taking risks is because I know I have time to bounce back if things don’t go as planned. Mistakes at this age aren’t the end of the world—they’re lessons. This makes me more willing to go after opportunities that might seem scary or uncertain to others. I believe in my ability to handle whatever comes my way, and that gives me the courage to take risks.
When I make a decision, I do it with confidence, believing it’s the best choice I could make at the time. This helps me avoid looking back with regrets. Every decision has some level of risk, but I trust my instincts and judgment. This trust is based on thinking things through and using the information I have at the moment.
I also know that not every risk will pay off. Sometimes things don’t work out, and that’s okay. The possibility of failure doesn’t scare me; it motivates me to do my best and keep going. Each setback is a learning opportunity, helping me to improve and move forward.
Taking risks also sparks creativity and new ideas. It encourages me to think differently and find unique solutions. In my career, this means I’m willing to take on projects that might seem too risky to others, leading to some pretty cool outcomes. By embracing risk, I help create an environment where innovation can thrive.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a filmmaker, primarily on the producing side of things, and I’m most proud of the short films I’ve been making with my team. One of my key projects is my podcast, *Gen Z Vs.*, where I talk to others to highlight issues in the world and discuss how we can become better leaders.
Being young in this industry hasn’t been easy. People often don’t take me seriously until they see my work. So, I usually keep quiet and let my results speak for themselves.
I’ve learned a few important lessons along the way. One is not to take things personally. If someone doubts my abilities, I just move on to the next opportunity. I don’t hold on to insults or negativity; I prefer to focus on my goals.
I want people to know that, yes, I’m young, but I have big goals, and I will achieve them. It doesn’t matter where I start; I can be who I want to be and accomplish everything I set out to do.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take my best friend over to the Americana, located in Glendale. There are plenty of restaurants, views, a lot of people around and its a great atmosphere

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to the special community I have around me. This includes my father and mother, who have always been there for me, as well as trusted mentors who are wiser than me and guide me through everything. Their support, advice, and encouragement have been invaluable to me, and I wouldn’t be where I am today without them. They all hold a dear place in my heart. Especially my dad as i seek advice from him all the time, on various topics throughout the business to just life in general.
