We had the good fortune of connecting with Monique Bryher, MSPH and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Monique, what do you attribute your success to?
Most businesses have specialties. My brand “The Doctor’s Daughter” is based on 3 factors: (1) having been raised by a physician-father who was an immigrant (2) spending many weekends as a child going on hospital rounds and house calls (3) earning an MS in Public Health from UCLA and consulting for hospitals, health plans and the CDC for many years. So being in hospitals and around physicians and nurses is a natural for me and as a result, those medical professionals trust me and are comfortable with me.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Because I don’t come from a sales background but from a lifetime of medicine, my focus has always been serving my real estate clients with integrity, honesty and competence. Like all business people and entrepreneurs, success has come by staying focused and always working in the interests of my clients. I’m particularly proud to help those clients who are first-time home buyers because their first purchase is the most important one and starts them on the path to financial health.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take them on a drive along the coast of California, stopping to look at the beaches and visiting local restaurants. Los Angeles has an incredible variety of restaurants because of its diverse population and most people like trying new tastes and experiences.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to dedicate my shout-out to all the hard-working, dedicated physicians and nurses working to save lives and improve patient health in Southern California. I have a particular fondness for the UCLA School of Public Health and David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. Also Kaiser-Permanente, where I spent over 12 years consulting.
