We had the good fortune of connecting with Monique Coghlan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Monique, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I’ve always been a highly creative person. Ever since a young age, I’ve always gravitated towards art and beauty. My dad also noticed that about me as well and pushed me to follow my passion

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I specialize in bridal & red carpet beauty. I love getting my clients ready for their special occasions and events. I am most proud to be apart of a bride’s special day. I love working behind the scenes for big fashion events and being on set. I would say the thing that sets me apart from others as I bring a calming energy to stressful situations. I also do hair and makeup and love them the same.
I got to where I am professionally by making connections with people I’ve worked with and word of mouth. It’s best to let your work speak for itself. It wasn’t always an easy path. I had to focus with learning my specialty and what I wanted to bring to the industry. I overcame challenges by keeping up on trends and staying true to myself.
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is to stay consistent and prepared at all times. I would want the world to know that I have always been this passionate girl that still has big dreams and wants to bring the beauty to everyone!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Get in bestie we are starting with a beach day. We are going to start our week in Laguna Beach. We’re going to go to the best breakfast spot in town. It’s called Heidelberg Café. They have the best breakfast croissants with roasted potatoes. Before we go and look at the ocean, We are going to get an açai bowl from Alohana açai bowls.
Now we are heading back to LA. We have to go to the grove, there is lots of people watching and shopping to do. Definitely have to stop by the Sephora there it’s huge and has all the beauty brands. You have to stop by Erewhon and get a plate lunch. Buffalo cauliflower, brown rice balls, and mac & cheese is a must. We will end our day in Venice beach. We would definitely have to go to the Osea spa to get facials and grab a chicken caesar wrap from Gigata. We would will definitely grab a matcha at Alfred’s go to the Glossier store & Naimie’s beauty supply to play with makeup. We would grab lunch at Alfalfa and hit up the Santa Monica boardwalk.
Hopefully we are lucky enough to catch a good concert at the BMO stadium or go to LACMA to check out some art.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My husband Kevin. I couldn’t do this without his love & support. He believes in me and always helps with keeping me focused.
