Hi Mounir, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
My view of work–life balance has changed significantly over time, especially moving from a corporate career into entrepreneurship. Today, I see balance less as equal hours and more as being fully present—whether that’s with my family, my team, or the business. Prioritizing my health and family gives me the energy and clarity to lead better. For me, balance isn’t about stepping away from responsibility, but about sustaining what it takes to show up consistently.

What should our readers know about your business?
Toastique is more than a restaurant for us—it’s a wellness-forward brand built on quality, consistency, and community. What sets us apart is our ability to deliver elevated, nutritious food that’s both accessible and visually inspiring, without compromising on ingredients or experience. I’m especially proud to bring this concept to Downtown Los Angeles and to have built it as a family business alongside my partner, where shared sacrifices, long hours, and hard work laid the foundation for what we’ve created.

Getting here wasn’t easy. Transitioning from decades in corporate America to entrepreneurship required resilience, patience, and a hands-on approach, and the journey demanded commitment from all of us. The biggest lessons have been to lead with integrity, stay adaptable, trust your team, and see every challenge as an opportunity to grow. What I want the world to know is that our brand is driven by purpose, people, and a genuine desire to help others feel their best.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My biggest shoutout goes to my family for their constant support, patience, and belief in me throughout this journey. Entrepreneurship comes with long hours and real sacrifices, and having a strong family foundation makes everything possible. I also want to recognize my Nephew and business partner Ali, whose drive, creativity, and passion for wellness inspire me every day. Beyond that, I draw motivation from athletes who reinvent themselves after their careers, reminding me that it’s never too late to build a meaningful second chapter.
