We had the good fortune of connecting with Ms. Monét and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ms. Monét, why did you pursue a creative career?
I’ve always wanted to perform or do something within the arts. It’s what came natural. Growing up in a musical family, it was innate, that I’d end up as the “artist” that I am now. I guess you can say it was inevitable.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m a Bay Area native who took a chance to break out and truly live my dream by using my gift. Ironically, my road has been a pleasant one, but I have paid my dues. The ups and downs of the music industry can be trying and discouraging, but my life’s mantra is to just “trust the process”. Every step is curated perfectly to work in your favor, even when it doesn’t seem like it. Because of this, I’ve been able to elevate within my career to heights beyond my own beliefs and this is only the beginning. My voice is my gift, it’s my ministry, and my goal is to continue spread it around worldwide.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Living in Las Vegas, I’d probably take them to their favorite restaurant, then a fun night on the town where live music is playing. I’d more than likely would end up at the Dorsey where we’d dance the night away…

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to shout out my many “MOniacs” for always having my back. Since day 1, my fans have continued to follow me and spread the word about me to others. They’ve truly made a difference on this journey and I sincerely thank God for them.
