We had the good fortune of connecting with Nadia Robertson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am an emerging creative artist. Most of my works are experimental and continue to evolve. The common thread in my pieces make reference to Nature’s Intelligence. For example, Seed Woman (yes real) pays homage to the organic farmers from around the world who collect seeds and store them in Seed Banks. These woman are Seed Warriors who have a reverence for earth. My “Endurance Woman” sculptures captures the abstract expressions of my personal identity as a woman (masked insecurities) and she speaks to emotions being transient.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take them to the Botanical Gardens in Melbourne. Have tea at the tea house. We would then make our way to the National Gallery of Victoria to visit the Pink Pond.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My husband – period. He has always supported allowed for the space for me to evolve. He rarely makes comments on my work and I am ok with that. Sometimes silent gestures and presence means speaks volumes!
