We had the good fortune of connecting with NaiQuawn Anderson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi NaiQuawn, how has your work-life balance changed over time?

Work life balance is never completely in balance. It’s a constant battle, as a father of five I’m never in complete balance but I always find ways to make time for those that I love in my life. No one knows what it takes to reach levels that you have never been to before, that comes with time and patience. You have to have a goal and a plan to the make sure you are able to reach the goal. Even with the plan you have to expect that you will hit bumps in the road. For me this is my analogy for balance.

In my opinion, you will never fully have complete balance because of the unforeseen things that you come across. Family needing you unexpectedly, a deal not happening, a change in plans, etc. You learn to adjust to the changes that occur along the way. This becomes apart of the balance, understanding what is most important and what you may have to sacrifice as well.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.

I am a jack of many trades but my focus is on photography and fitness. I have been in photography now for 11 years but out of those eleven, six have be serious and professional. I took the time to study under someone whom I deemed to be an amazing photographer and it paid off tremendously. Terrell Maxwell is my brother, coach and mentor. He keeps me on the right path at all times when it comes to photography and life, he never let’s me fall short and for this, I am forever grateful. We knew each other for years before we even started studying together, so the bond was already there. I learned to be confident in my photographs every time the camera snapped because of him and now I’m making strides that I never thought that I would. I have been on some of the biggest stages doing photography because of my lessons with him and the journey has just begun. I learned my style (portrait photography) and learned my looks thanks to him and it has set me apart from others even in my same area and that’s a bonus. I speak more life into my photography now because of what I learned and where I want to be with my photography company, Quans Vision LLC.

When it comes to fitness I was always into it because it runs in my family. My uncle and cousin were both fitness pros and fitness junkies when I was a kid. I started my fitness journey at 25 and I have not slowed down since. I took on a few mentors that understood the world of fitness and it helped me win two physique shows in South Carolina. Following that up i started studying for my Fitness Trainer Certificate. Now at the age of 35, I have my own fitness company with one of my mentors Sedric and we plan to help people conquer transformations of the mind, body and soul through our company, Problem Fitness LLC… “Where no isn’t an answer.”

Over the years, I have learned one thing and it has become my life motto, “Focus, Proceed & Conquer”. You have to focus on the goal, then make a plan and proceed on that goal, which ultimately will end with you conquering that goal. All of my brands represent me because I learned who I am, why I am and what it’s important to me. That’s the most important thing to do when you are working or making something bigger than you.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
When my firends come to town we usually hit the gym of course, Jungle Gym SC. For good food I have a few chocies and places I like to go to which include Carolina Ale house, Pon DI River, Blue Moon, and Waffle House. But for fun we go to the Vista.
