Meet Nancy Crowd: Entrepreneur, Designer, & Producer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Nancy Crowd and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nancy, how do you think about risk?
I’m a risk taker but I feel like everyone has a different attitude toward taking risks. For me, how I interpret things greatly influences the way I approach any risky decision. Now my interpretation may not always be considered normal but I definitely make sure my decisions aren’t rooted in impulse. It’s hard to always weigh the odds of a risk in a rational and mathematical way. At times, you just have to go off your gut feeling or intuition. It’s not possible to predict the outcome of things but you can try and calculate the risk. My whole career has consisted of risk taking and I’m where I am at because I believed in risk.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am an entrepreneur, I design, and I have my world famous brand Silent Crowd! Besides that, I am also a producer and work on custom content at the studios. You may have seen my personal music video “My Brand (parody) – Nancy Crowd” on youtube or some of the music videos I’ve directed like “Vegas, Baby. – Olivver the Kid”. For me, life without challenges is no life at all! I’m a bit weird because I believe challenges are fun! I see challenges as constraints and with constraints you are forced to be creative. Nothing is easy so why not have fun doing whatever it is you’re doing? Stay focused but have fun!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I live in the Los Angeles area but I would take my friend on a spontaneous road trip up the coast towards the bay area. There would be no plans and we would just go till we got tired and stopped wherever we thought looked interesting. I love museums and I love nature and I think people need to visit those places more. Nature is great because you can reset yourself by reconnecting to the earth. You have to disconnect to reconnect and nature is the best place to do that ! The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to shoutout my dear friend D.R. Wagner. D.R. is a wonderful poet and one of the most amazing and interesting human beings I have ever met. I have been very fortunate to have him play many roles in my life but most prominently mentor and friend! Shoutout to you D.R. and I love you for always inspiring others!
