Meet Nandi G | Stylist, Photographer & Creative Director

We had the good fortune of connecting with Nandi G and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nandi, let’s talk legacy – what do you want yours to be?
I want to be remembered for bringing people together to do what they love. In the creative world there can be so many politics, but I think i’ve been really fortunate enough to have curated a small community within the group of creatives i’ve worked with to where they support each other outside of knowing me, I think thats the most beautiful part, being able to have a small support group but also a group that can get off some great ideas.

Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
I am the main Stylist, Creative Director and Photographer of Hoodbeyonce Studios. Hoodbeyonce is a nickname i played around with until it actually stuck, it is who I am creatively and it is an outlet where I am able to push out a plethora of creative work with no limits. Its been so fun, I love what I do. It was for sure not easy I had to do play around with jobs for a little while before really understanding what I wanted. and besides just life things and outside factors, the way you have to teach yourself, be patient with yourself, be easy on yourself it can get pretty challenging. One of the biggest lessons i’m still trying to master is making yourself your one and only competitor. Once you realize that its really only about you and your journey to success the better.
What I want the world to know about my brand is I work hard to get everything done, its been a long road. I make it look really easy..but theres something so much bigger than myself I’m trying to obtain through Hoodbeyonce Studios for us by us.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If you need good eats I have places all over its crazy! As of right now my favorite place to eat is Bruxie waffles in noho! Super cute!!!
Im also obsessed with Wake & Late in DTLA. It’s a great breakfast spot if you’re in the city for the morning or just passing through really quick.
Mama’s Shelter in Hollywood is also another favorite place of mine! Very cute brunch, dinner, cocktails and rooftop scenery
I’m also in Trader Joe’s like every other day so theres that!
Not much of a nightlife person but Thursdays at Broadway Bar are hosted by Hood Fantasy and we have a good time!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?

All of my friends that be outside with me thursdays! All the beautiful faces i’ve captured over the summer!
