Meet Nanuka Gogicha | Artist, Model and TV Personality

We had the good fortune of connecting with Nanuka Gogicha and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nanuka, why did you pursue a creative career?
I pursued an artistic and creative career because my passion for art began in early childhood. My grandad played a crucial role in nurturing this passion, being not only my first art collector but also a constant source of encouragement. My artistic style naturally gravitated towards surrealism, with one of my early works featuring a cat walking on a snow-covered landscape. Surrealism allowed me to explore the depths of my creativity and imagination. Most importantly, art served as a profound means of expression, enabling me to convey my thoughts, emotions, and perspectives in a way that words alone couldn’t capture, thereby connecting me with others on a deeper level.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My brand, “Aqua by Nanuka,” is deeply rooted in the symbolism of water, representing life, grace, and a formidable force in all my art pieces. I particularly focus on portraying eyes as galaxies, reflecting the depth and complexity of each individual. Water and eyes are recurrent motifs in all my paintings, serving as a unifying theme. I’ve also ventured into jewelry design, with my collections featuring Aquamarine gemstones that mirror my artistic philosophy. Beyond my artistic pursuits, I’m proud of my modeling career, representing my country as Miss Georgia in Miss Universe, and being recognized in Esquire’s list of the sexiest women alive, which opened doors to travel internationally and connect with incredible individuals. While achieving popularity in my home country through TV hosting, notably “Good Morning Georgia”, I still managed to exhibit my artwork in personal galleries in Chicago and Washington. My journey has been a mix of diverse experiences, but my passion for art remains unwavering, and I hope the world knows me for my dedication to expressing life’s depth and beauty through my creations.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love LA, every cubic inch of it. My favorite dining places are the Ivy and Funke in Beverly Hills, and WeHo in general is a great district to have fun. As an artist I love to visit museums and theaters, e.g. the Getty Museum and LACMA. I regularly go to Bob Baker Marionette theater with my husband and kids.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Credit and recognition also belong to my family, especially my parents who were my early examples and unwavering supporters, and my husband and two daughters who continue to be pillars of encouragement. Additionally, “The Fountainhead” by Ayn Rand has been a significant source of motivation, teaching me to prioritize ideas and visions in my creative journey.
