Meet Narcisse Je’Juan | Artist & Director

We had the good fortune of connecting with Narcisse Je’Juan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Narcisse, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I think about risk like a new door opening. When you don’t take risks, your life stays stagnant or you get completely stuck in a cycle. Some days I just go for it, and it really boost my spirit or it brings me new opportunities. Even in failure, taking the risk is greater than the outcome. It gets easier to take risks and eventually it becomes second nature. You conquer your mind you conquer the world, take those risks.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Thank you for the great questions, I think I’m most proud of my resilience. Through the good, bad and the ugly I’ve been believing in myself and walking like I will be successful. In 2019 I started with merch for my music, moved to modeling, started making couture and now I’m adding directing to the list. Which involves all the elements I’ve been working in at different stages. It’s funny how you don’t realize the little things and daily work will really help you in the future. Haha was it easy? Hmm… NO! Haha I quit my job all together on June 13TH 2024, two days before my big show and it has been up to me and my talent to be able to live and survive. I’ve learned to sell product I.e. my Narcisse magazine. Building a product line, creating my own fashion shows, pop ups, parties, community events, etc. has taught me I can create my own world and reality. I want people to know that I might make it look easy but there’s a lot of hard work and genuine effort behind what we do. No one is perfect but I will always give my all. Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was to visit, I’d take them to Golden Gate Park for a picnic and a day of enjoying nature. We’d definitely go to bar hopping and find a bar with nice atmosphere who sells the best frozen sweet drinks. We’d eat at taqueria Cancun on the mission for the best burritos in the WORLD! Our go to would be “fun cheap sf” so many events for free all over the city and we’d at least go to two a day. Going to haight street as a fashion head is a must. Coolest people you will ever see. Main thing would be visiting the best views in the Bay Area. As a bay native we always grew up going to views to hang out, and even sometimes you’ll catch a party at the views.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give a big shoutout to my best friend Manasiyo. We met through modeling class and eventually became business partners. There were days we were homeless sleeping on the bus, to us bringing the biggest fashion shows in San Francisco. On days I feel down , he picks me up and when he’s down I’m there for him. Thank you Manasiyo, shout-out to you! I also want to give a shoutout to those in my community. So many days where I feel lost and confused, they come and guide me back on track. Weather its Shawn with the motivational talks, Jawa with helping in all areas, Mrs. Phyliss allowing us in her model school, Javier taking time out his day to teach us posing/ runway walks, it really means a lot to me. I felt lonely growing up so getting so much support has been a learning experience because I’m not used to genuine support and team work. Big shoutout the amazing Narcisse team. Thank you Malika, Jordyn, Harin, Raheem, Maddy, Shawn, and all those who make Narcisse such an amazing brand and helping me shift the fashion world! Last shoutout will be to… MYSELF! I don’t speak about a lot of the things i deal with, but for me to still be standing and ambitious, my younger self would be so proud!!
